So annoyed today people from freecycle didn't turn up and didn't even let me know they were not coming.
On a positive I have started to clear out the freezer after my DD left the door open.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Hello, I've been busy so not posted on here for a while
. I've just decluttered a twix (well, it counts surely
?). I've made the blind for my downstairs toilet and hung that. The next project is to make the blind for the utility room and get that hung. I can't wait, it will use up some fabric which I have been storing for years! It will also use the fabric which I bought in May to make the blinds with. I really have to pull my finger out and get on with it because I have a (very large apparently) parcel of yarn coming from my sister who has just had a clearout of her yarn and has got me suckered in to knitting. I am currently knitting a baby blanket for my preemie nephew who arrived last week, 8 weeks and 5 days early . Hopefully I will get it finished before the baby becomes a dad himself
.
DH came home last night and has started talking about plastering the hallway himself (or part of it). I don't want him to start doing that until he pulls his finger out and takes the door and the kitchen blind down so that I can finish the painting in there. The rooms look lovely and the colours look very good espescially mixed in with my nice bits I got for Christmas and the Kenwood I got from ebay recently. It's a very eclectic mix of colours but I like it.
Have mislaid my acrylic shapes for quilting and also my metal ruler so can not actually finish my quilt for some time until I find the darn things again.
DD cleared out her bedroom yesterday with help from DH (thank the lord I didn't have to do it this time!). My recycling bin was overflowing last week and is the same again this week. Will have to go and sort the rubbish later on.
Have spent ages this morning doing the washing. Took me an hour to fold the non ironing, have spent an hour ironing and am just having a break. I think there's probably only 1/2 an hour left but I will then have to put everything away and it will take me at least another hour. Depressingbut oh so lovely when it's done! May make a start on my blind tonight then as the ironing board is already out!
Right, stop waffling and get on with it Kaz!
You're not waffling, in fact you sound exactly like my sort of person! I would love to make blinds for our son's new flat and our house, so would be most grateful for an online lesson!
We are making changes to our house too, and might have a small extension built, so we're hoping the architect has interesting ideas for the rest of the house. Think her visit is going to be fascinating - can't wait.
Thanks Mrs B.0 -
I've been de-cluttering now for a month now, reading this thread and onto my last room. Having had to quickly move from 2 properties (1 sold, 1 knocked down) and not had time to do it, ten year's later I have finally got round to it :j
It is surprising how much has gone already, a lot more is ready to go and doesn't it make you feel good? I keep going into the rooms and looking round lol
So, I started in my office.. 3 binliners of paper, shredded and now being used as cat litter :money: 2 recycle crates of magazines and 1 binliner of rubbish removed, 2 boxes of things to sell (sold some already and made £150 so far). All drawers now neatly put back what I wanted to keep and not stuffed full.
Living room.. loads of game demo discs gone, plus some rubbish.
Kitchen.. a few saucepans, some old food and rubbish.
Dining Room.. not much needed doing here, but got rid of a few things and an old sofa is waiting to go to the tip, along with 3x kettles, 2x PC monitors, 1x PC, 3x TVs from Loft Conversion.
Hallway Cupboard.. 1 binliner full of carrier bags, plus a bit of rubbish.
The BIG one.. Loft Conversion.. we had 5 storage boxes plus 12 Ocado crates, this is now down to 5 storage boxes and 2 Ocado crates, the rest are now empty yay! plus 5 recycle crates of magazines one from there too =much more space and now looks like a room and not a junk yard!
Out of that came 2 binliners for charity shop (clothes put up there when we moved), 1 binliner full of teddies and assorted soft toys, a wheely bin full of cardboard and 2 binliners of rubbish. Found 5 kettles up there too  3 to be thrown away, 1 spare and the other is going with OH when he returns to work. Plus the things to go to the tip.
I've also washed the walls, ceilings, paintwork, any drawers and cupboards and hoovered in each of those rooms. (Curtains and carpets on list to wash)
Now I'm doing our bedroom.. going through all clothes, any that don't fit or we no longer wear=charity bags, washing them all as well as I go. At the moment we have 2x Chest of drawers, 1 shelf unit and a wardrobe in there for our clothes and I'm hoping by doing this we will just have a chest of drawers and a wardrobe, the other chest of drawers can go in the loft conversion and the shelf unit which is falling apart can go bye byes. An old flat pillow is going to be made into 2x cushions for Living Room.
So, I am absolutely warn out, but now I'm coming to the end of it, I hope to keep it that way, nice, tidy and de-cluttered as now I can find things, clean it easier and have much more spaceit is also like cleaning out your mind if you know what I mean? It also means when we come to move again it won't be as hard work. I will probably go round each again soon as see if I can get rid of even more. Made some money, plus will help a charity too.
Keep up the good work MSE's it is worth itAlso due to this website I will also be debt free in 2yrs time!

Wow Enlightenment! You have done very well!!!
We have moved lots of times and i am quite throw away happy!! I need to declutter but to be fair i have only got about 50% of most peoples clutter. But it is bad for me. We are at the worst we have ever been really! Getting there slowly through my declutter areas list!
Seems you might be a kettleoholic??? :rotfl:Orange Fairy

Tomorrow charity shop will get rid of 11 items.
I am also going to "lose" a 2 set of drawers, when I declutter trousers I no longer wear (currently filling 2 drawers) and move items into there!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
End of Term! Loads of decluttering as a result - 100 cakes to one playgroup, sausage rolls to the other for parties; 5+7+3 sets of end-of-term gifts (notebooks and pens for each person, plus box of chocs for each setting); also cleared out 2 different railway sets (we still have 3!) and 2 sets of facepaints that give DS2 an allergic reaction (bought Saturday, rash by Monday, and they're hypoallergenic). Now to resist the pleas from the kids for the next 6 weeks that they desperately "need" huge amounts of toys/craft stuff/games etc etc:rotfl:0

Thanks
No lol just they need to go to the tip and never get there, back before LBM I was buying a new one just because I got fed up with the old one, so a couple still work.
Done some more de-cluttering today, Kitchen cupboard again!, found Picnic basket and put all picnic things in that which cleared space in the cupboard, so i sorted the cupboard out and washed it as well, 1/2 of that is now empty
Sorted out a drawer again as well as well as finishing the Loft Conversion.
Tomorrow I plan on continuing with the bedroom and a cupboard in the hallway along with the cutlery drawer again, which may get done tonight.0 -
My youngest son is almost 3 and I still have all his baby stuff, clothes toys etc.
I still have a lot of my son's baby stuff in the loft, and he'll be 30 next week, lol!Today hasn't been so good.....not done much. However, I have FINALLY got the mould/mildew out the bottom of the net curtains. It took: one rinse in bath, one machine wash, soak overnight in washing powder in bath, machine wash, soak overnight in dettol mould and mildew remover, machine wash w/bicarbonate of soda, soak in bleach, machine wash!! But they're finally completely white and are currently hanging on the line.
I need to get mould off my nets (when I finally get around to cleaning the windows that is, lol!), I'm hoping to get it off by soaking them in water with denture tablets, as seen on How Clean Is Your House.I am currently knitting a baby blanket for my preemie nephew who arrived last week, 8 weeks and 5 days early. Hopefully I will get it finished before the baby becomes a dad himself.
I started knitting a delicate, lacy patterned matinee jacket for my sister's 1st baby, that baby is now 25 and has a son of her own who will be starting school in September, and the jacket is still not finished, lol!
This week I have been mostly cleaning, rather than decluttering, (details msg no 2387 on the My home is a mess thread), but I have cleared the paperwork from the computer desk and hall table, plus some more of my dad's paperwork, and ended up with half a bin bag of shredded paper and a carrier bag of papers that didn't need to be shredded. I've also put a roll of masking tape and a roll of double sided tape into the shed, where they belong, along with a spare aerial lead, I found a keyring and old credit card wallet which I've put in the CS box, and have 4 keys which don't belong to anything, so they are in a bag to go in the metal recycling bin, along with some broken needles and pins which were with the sewing machine I got off freecycle.
I've cleaned and tidied half my kitchen cupboards, and chucked out a very old jar of home made marmalade which was past its best (I don't think marmalade should be brown, lol!), marmalade binned and jar recycled. Also binned some vitamin pills which were 3 years out of date and a couple of packs of chewing gum, which were at least 2 years old! I've cleared all my ironing and put it away, done some washing, and emptied and recycled a bottle of shower gel, a bottle of bathroom spray cleaner and a can of body spray.
Today I cleaned and tidied our bedroom, and there is now no clutter on any of the surfaces, although it is mostly because I’ve put things away rather than getting rid of stuff, but there was some paper and cardboard which went into recycling. Also binned a can of hairspray which doesn’t spray and I’ve had for years!???Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Having failed miserably on the decluttering front over the last 10 months or so - I'M BACK. I finish for the school holidays today and am planning on doing some SERIOUS decluttering every day! I will be aiming to deo it whilst the teens are in bed in a morning!
Talk to you later...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0
