Dropped 4 bags of clothes off to the charity bin today and most of the things put on freecycle have been collected or will be going tonight. The things that haven't had any interest I will take to the tip tomorrow. Need to scout about the house now to see what else I can clear out, it is getting quite exciting seeing all the clutter disappearing and the my beautiful home emerging.

Hello. Coming up for 24 weeks pregnant and need to declutter. Trying not to feel overwhelmed so starting with small area at a time. Mother helped me sort through some of my clothes a couple of weeks ago so several bin bags have gone to charity shop. Today started on dressing table so have managed to clear away all the junk that has collected there. Big pile of magazines for recycling too so now some space at my side of the bed for our cot to go.

gilly, does that mean youre doing jig saws this afternoon? If youre checking they are all there??

(Im giggling as my sister used to call them sore jugs when we were small. What a nuttah)
yup we sat and did 12 jigsaws and only 3 of them had all the bits - p***ed off isnt the word! kids got a serious talking to about taking better care of their stuff and putting everything back when they are finished with it.

The charity shop is getting some right treats.

Im sorting my shoe cupboard out. Theres probably plenty retro at the bottom...

    the tea towel cupboard too.

Another charity bag collected yesterday plus the recycling, millions of items out this month!

Not done too much over the past few days. I put 20 items on ebay over the free listing weekend (have loads more things to put on but it's finding the time and motivation!) and 3 have decent bids on them with watchers on others so fingers crossed several things leave the house this week!
We're having a new washing machine delivered on Saturday as ours decided it was done with washing so I'll have loads and loads of washing to do over the weekend. I've been handwashing a few things but there are piles of stuff in the utility room - can't wait for it to be gone!
I still haven't sorted through my wardrobe or done anymore decorating in the spare room but the girls are going to their dad's on Monday until Thursday so I have about 4 days to get stuff done. I will be motivated over the next week and a half and get plenty of clutter sorted out!!

my decluttering is about to come undone!!

i have stuff at my parents house and we have been sorting it out but rather than me going up there and us all sorting it out together they put all the stuff down to me which ends up cluttering my house!!

ive stuff there we were meant to be ebaying and stuff i said i wanted thrown out etc... but i havent had the time to ebay them and my dad refuses to throw stuff out!!

i cant have anything else in this house till i sort out what is currently in it and make space!!! its all in their loft so not exactly in their way at the moment!

    argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I've been busy so not posted on here for a while :o. I've just decluttered a twix (well, it counts surely :p?). I've made the blind for my downstairs toilet and hung that. The next project is to make the blind for the utility room and get that hung. I can't wait, it will use up some fabric which I have been storing for years! It will also use the fabric which I bought in May to make the blinds with. I really have to pull my finger out and get on with it because I have a (very large apparently) parcel of yarn coming from my sister who has just had a clearout of her yarn and has got me suckered in to knitting. I am currently knitting a baby blanket for my preemie nephew who arrived last week, 8 weeks and 5 days early . Hopefully I will get it finished before the baby becomes a dad himself :o.
DH came home last night and has started talking about plastering the hallway himself (or part of it). I don't want him to start doing that until he pulls his finger out and takes the door and the kitchen blind down so that I can finish the painting in there. The rooms look lovely and the colours look very good espescially mixed in with my nice bits I got for Christmas and the Kenwood I got from ebay recently. It's a very eclectic mix of colours but I like it :).
Have mislaid my acrylic shapes for quilting and also my metal ruler so can not actually finish my quilt for some time until I find the darn things again :o.
DD cleared out her bedroom yesterday with help from DH (thank the lord I didn't have to do it this time!). My recycling bin was overflowing last week and is the same again this week. Will have to go and sort the rubbish later on.
Have spent ages this morning doing the washing. Took me an hour to fold the non ironing, have spent an hour ironing and am just having a break. I think there's probably only 1/2 an hour left but I will then have to put everything away and it will take me at least another hour. Depressing :( but oh so lovely when it's done! May make a start on my blind tonight then as the ironing board is already out!

Right, stop waffling and get on with it Kaz!

Kaz - decluttering a twix definitely counts :p

Right i have arranged under bed boxes for the kids rooms, a box for all photos, a box for general memory items like DD's christening gowns, sling from when DD broke her collarbone, first baby grows etc and a box for all our wedding memories.

    Now i need to sort.

OH helped but tidying DD2's bedroom on monday. I have let it get into a mess as i knew i was sorting it all out soon...but it has gone on a few weeks. Now it will b easier to sort as it is tidy. Can't let the kids be there as they suddenly find emotional attachments with things they havent seen in years!!

I am dying to declutter our glass/mug cabinet! Then i can cross it off my list!!

Roght back to work to declutter orders for my desk onto the computer!! x
