Is that £160 for 4 discs and pads or just 2?
As three local inde garages near me will charge between £90-£110 for front discs and pads fitted.0 -
Is Nationwide Autocentres the same company as National Tyres?0

that is for the front 2 discs and front pads. tbh i didnt know that nationwide autocentre had bad reputation. The one experience i had with them in uxbridge auto was very very good, the guy there Barry was very helpful resolvign a problem i had with kwik fit, and even called up their head office for me and got them to refund work they messed up on my mums car.
Im just goign by my previous experience with them, I find that (for whatever reason) it is independant garage who i feel more cautious around.
e.g I could meet the most highly skilled/honest and fair price guy in one garage but then run into a con man in the next, but with a national chain i feel like i know who im dealing with, if that makes sense0 -
If you are happy with the price and the service, then go for it.
You seem to be ignoring the advice given here.
Personally I wouldn't trust them with a push bike.0 -

well im sorry if i appear to be ignoring ppl advice (as i am takign it on board) but its hard to simply avoid a place when i had previous good experience with them and ppl are just saying 'they are bad'.
Anyways thanks for the advice0 -

Fine, then use them if you are happy with the price and service.

When they MOT'd my Civic Type R, they put grease around a driveshaft gaitor, which was not split and disconnected my cooling fan, then abandoned the test as the car was boiling up on the guage and wanted me to leave my car with them. Take it to an independant.0

Ignore the advice at your peril. Very poor in my experience. Won't be returning at any price. :eek:0

G S L,
The advice and quality of work at all these national chains is down to the integrity of the local manager - get a good one and the centre will be fine BUT there are many managers who are more interested in hitting their monthly sales targets rather than providing what the customer wants so the advice to beware given by others is valid.
Check the price quoted by phoning a couple of local garages for an estimate which will confirm if the price quoted by Nationwide is competitive. Waiting a short while to get this work done shouldn't cause a problem as long as the pads haven't worn down to the metal backing.
For the future. The best advice I can give is for you to speak to people you know in the area and get a recommendation for a local independent garage that they use and trust.0
