Today had a NSD which is good, and ate 1 egg on 1 toast, a feta cheese salad and some pasta with sauce.
I think im really going to struggle with £35 a week, but i told my parents on friday night that when OH is at work im eating at them as many nights as possible!

Has anyone bought 'horse' carrots. Our local pet food shop is selling them for £2 a sack? They are all either broken or misshapen but I presume say to eat.
We've eaten horse carrots and we're still alive!! Obviously wash them first but I think they're just supermarket rejects due to being the wrong shape. When they're in season we always have a sack in our shed shared between ourselves, the rabbit, the guinea pigs (nice cheap food for them and they love their daily carrot treat!) and the horse and pony. Saves us a fortune!Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -

Woohoo managed a no spend day today!! Have dug out milk from freezer for kids. Will be having roast with the leg of lamb that my Dad brought over for us earlier in the week, any veggies from bottom of fridge, have enough pots left just about and frozen yorkshires so that us sorted for tomorrow and will have lots of meat left for sarnies for the rest of the week. Will have to go shopping on Tuesday but should manage to stay out of the shops tomorrow for another nsd, fingers crossed!0

Hi everyone,
My signature looks a little scary, since its only the 2nd, but I had spent £105 before the month even began, stocking up on offers etc, that wouldn't be used until January. Today I have stocked up on toiletries, washing up liquid, bits and pieces that will be affected by the VAT rise, so that will save me in the long run.
Went to Mr. M and was then going to go to Mr. A for the things I know are cheaper there, but it was manic, no where to even park, so I gave up. Tomorrow, I had planned to have tomato and smoked haddock tart, but didn't get any smoked haddock or puff pastry (going to get it in Mr. A), so I have some cod in the freezer so i think i will use that instead, really cannot be bothered to go into town again tomorrow - it should be OK, shouldn't it?? And I am now in the process of making my own puff pastry (although I think life is too short to faff about with this) however I feel like a domestic goddess, hehe!
I made beef fajhitas tonight, using the recipe for the seasoning on here, and it was lovely, DH always says the shop bought ones are too fierce, but this one was delish, definitely won't be having shop bought mix again.
