ive decided, that im going to declare my total as £337, as i wont spend anymore today or tomorrow. may need toilet roll monday and milk but im going to start feb budget a day early anyway.

I have also finished my January and am declaring a total of £142.15 but as I have reduced it by a week due to changing my shopping dates, this should be out of a total of £200 and not £250.00.
Thank you to the challengers and the organisers for January.0 -
I've almost reached my budget limit for January..but have run out of margarine.
Instead, we've been using what i usually use just for cooking....Stork Margarine (15p for 100g).
This seems to taste ok on toast to me...am thinking of sneakily adding some Stork to the empty 'Can't believe it's not Butter' carton, to see if anyone else notices!!
Really don't want to rock up to the supermarket again this month...determined to stay in budget til my deadline, Feb 1st, Tuesday!0 -
I'm declaring at £154.42, which is rather a lot over my budget of £120, but hopefully I'll keep more in control next month!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

Hi all as per usual I'm not up to date with the thread so sorry if I've missed anything. Got 2 more shops to add to my total of £39.61 taking me to a Jan total so far of £105.29 which I dont think is too shabby as I got some bits on offer in that lot that should last me a couple of months. Although I changed to an annual figure this year I mentally want to keep it under £116 a month to ensure I am on target. No more big shops to do this month (athough I will do a little woopsie spotting on Monday evening) so it looks like a win for this month
Now I'm off to find the Feb thread to say hi over there. Will post back here on Monday with a deff figure for Jan.Emma
Aug GC - £88.17/£130
NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!0 -
am now at £290 do if i can keep everyone out of the supermarket budget should be doable. Im also trying to have 4 no spend days in each month but that really doesnt seem to be working. Never mind have spent a little less than last year which is a victory seeing as food prices have gone up so much.Grocery Challenge Feb 16 £346 /4000

Someone mentioned silicone baking bits a few pages back. £land are doing some which are great. Have bought small cupcake ones which work much better than my tin, seem to rise really well every time. Also have a loaf one and those grippy things for grabbing hot trays out of the oven. I was worried that all these may be poor quality or a bit too thin but so far, 2 months in, they are going strong. They also do quite a bit of other bits but have been limiting myself as am including cookware in grocery budget!
I am just catching up on the thread so have yet to read the last 2 pages so apologies if someone else has mentioned this already.
On my GC front. Still have £5 odd in the kitty and not yet planning any spends. Not spending anything on GC today. Have friends over this afternoon. Making banana bread and flapjacks this morning for grown ups. Homemade pizza, wedges and salad bits for the kiddies teatime.
Hope you all have a nice day.0 -
£309.14 so far against my budget of £200, 3 more days to go till end of Jan.
But, my cupboards are full and this includes my petrol spending too.
I will be trying my level best to stick to the £200 budget next month. So, MrsM can you please put unhappy_shopper down for £200 for Feb.Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

ok so finally caught up i think!! hope everyone gets better or feels better soon!! Feb is a new fresh month! well theres two days left - think im going to come in just under budget! cant imagine we will need anything but wont declare until monday! Shame we havent been so tight on budget in other areas - needed housey stuff. But this is the first month that i havent had to worry that we havent got enough money to cover all the bills untill next pay day!!!!!!! So i am very happy with that!! Think we still have some things we could do better with, but im sure we will get there!! starting to consolidate everything now too hoping that will start next months - hoping to get rid of 6 agreements and put into one - paying a bit off in each and consolidating the rest.which im sure will help us monthly to budget and keep track.Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0

I will have a small spend today on some cake ingredients, but am not counting that in my grocery budget as it is for a friends birthday present (we are having them over for take away night) and I have a separate budget for that
Still have around £5 left for the month.......
