Sounds like they are franchise then, so the franchisee can charge what they like. Hence the variation in customer service, out of date food etc. Bit cheeky calling themselves 'Costcutters' with those prices though.

The last time we were in Bath and looking for a quick lunch, we ended up eating at Wetherspoons (which I quite like anyway) as all the cafes and restaurants were so vastly overpriced and upmarket.

Crunchies are 55p in Tesco, so 72p for a convienece store isn't too bad.
