  • I've been corresponsing with M&S after they refused to fulfil my order of a Celebrate hamper and escalated it to accusing them of false advertising and reporting them to Trading Standards (which I have done). They were still showing 50% off displayed price which was £37.50. I have kept a screen shot of it.
I have had an email from them this morning that they will apply a £18.75 credit to my account if I want to re-order the hamper. Quite frankly after this, I wouldn't trust them to organise a prayer meeting in the Vatacan, so will be replying asking if they will be doing this for everyone who has been misled.

You know you're right, thank you for nudging me into action, cheeky devils, what front to cancel an order already paid for and confirmed by themselves (and tracked on Quidco). So I've retrieved the email from my trash and written to them saying I'll escalate things if I don't get a satisfactory conclusion to the saga, quite frankly it was an impulse buy and I don't really think I can face all that food now but it's the principle and I've got time on my hands. :T

I emailed them about this too (as after 40mins they still hadn't picked up the phone) and all I got was a lousy email to say they would notify their website team to let them know my concerns. -As I also mentioned the fact that I had £100 worth of stuff in my basket after clicking through their '30% off ALL sale items' yet it only reduced to £88.50 at the checkout. I wonder how many people have over paid believing they have got 30% off?
(And I know this doesn't include electricals etc, I only had things like scarves, glasses etc in my basket)

    M&S =
    lol

but do you know that 'glasses' etc aren't in the extra 30% as they come under the 'Home Event' which is NOT a SALE....

The restrictions state that it's only Sale items, no technology or furniture or home items...

  • I only want a £9 girls skirt and top set but with delivery it ends up more than it is without the 30percent off, nevermind :(
Same here, I only wanted one top but with the delivery it worked out more than the original price! :(
  • I have had one of my orders from 24th delivered but the other has not been dispatched. I split the order because items were going OOS as I was adding and couldn't get it done fast enough. I rang up at the time and explained it was annoying they no longer had store collection option for sale items, especially as I live 2 mins from shop and now it had cost me £7 to place an order when it used to be free. I was refunded for one delivery. I just wish the other order would turn up now!

Today I rang up again as I over-ordered a couple of room sprays - only £2 each, but they were for someone else who then went and bought them direct from store. I didn't want them - hated the smell so tried to return them. Local store refused to take them back saying they were not wrapped (that's how they were delivered), but they would not budge so I've just rang online number and have a refund of £4. I will donate them to charity shop.

It's always worth phoning - £7.50 saved. (mind, I always believed if you ordered online you could return item).

That isn't what it said when the site first had the reductions. I was online at midnight and happened to reload the M&S 30% off page. It's wording was '30% off ALL sale items' I know that after nearly two hours they changed this, but when I first went on there was no information about any exclusions - not even electricals

Yep certainly did and there were no t&cs on the site regarding the 30% off then either.

I'm still waiting for earlier M&S sale orders to be processed and have just cancelled a couple of items off these orders and I've now had the 30% taken off the total cost for the remaining sale items - so if you're still waiting for an order placed before today and cancel something it should hopefully reduce the total amount you pay. HTH

Thank you! I deleted an item I didnt want anymore and it saved about £130 from the original total!! Woo! but obviously still no dispatched so anything could happen.
