Sorry if this sounds really weird, but you know that material you buy that stops rugs moving on shiny floors, could you buy some of that and stick it to the brace and the clothing you buy will then have something to "hang on to" if you know what I meanThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

You could also contact https://www.fledglings.org.uk - it is a site for parents of disabled children. Often, the products are a result of parents having to create things for their own children, other items are recommended by parents whose children have faced challenges with regard to clothing, bedding, feeding, etc. There is a monthly e-newsletter which is quite interesting, and all products have been tested by parents and their children. prices are usually quite reasonable.0

Lakeland do a tape which might work
M&S, ASDA, matalan all do kids thermal long johns, usually in white or black.
What about buying/making here a haramaki (google image it). It is a japanese tummy wrap, quite trendy. If you could have one which attached around the brace it may fill the gap for her and help the other clothes stay in place. Obviously you would have to find a way of keeping the wrap in place - what about toupee tape? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Might sound a bit crazy but what about dungarees?? It's all in one then and I'm sure she could wear them to school and the school would understand.
