  • hi everyone :)

I have just found this thread and am subscribing so i can see all your ideas :D I haven't much money this yr so am starting my xmas shopping already & would love to give homemade pressies too! I made sock monkeys last yr and they went down a storm even with the adults lol.

I would love to be able to make a patchwork quilt, does anyone on here make them? And could perhaps tell me what i do once i have the squares :rotfl:yes i bought them as loved the pattern, decided to make DD a quilt she could keep and now have no idea what to do with them to turn them into a quilt :o

WAMMY- For monkey stuffing i have used cushions from poundland and they were lovely and squidgy and soft. I tend to buy in bulk now (as i made a lot to sell just before xmas) and i have a whole load left i think i got 5kg for £17 del. from ebay and it's good stuff works out much cheaper than £1 shop but depends on whether you need that much :D

    Ladies

I'm making sock bunnies for Easter gifts and and trying to source some good value stuffing. I remember a while ago on a thread someone mentioned that she used pillow stuffing as it was the cheapest way to do it - does anyone remember this?? Or does anyone have any other ideas for cheap stuffing??

    TIA :)

I got CHEAP teddy bears from the charity shop :) just look for the softest and cheapest. Found it better to work with than the cushions :)

:T:TWOW!!! YUMMY looking cakes esmer! and the other ones (sorry cannot remember name.)
Have been trying to make some more magnetic pegs as all the fairs I did last year they were a best seller! Sold out each time!
Also done some Easter bits re Flyingpigs ideas. Tescos Easter Bunnies in pack of 4 and Lost Easter Bunny Tails (mini marshmellows) in packs.
Also just bagging up some dolly mixtures.
Done a load more Pamper cakes for mothers day gifts too and some pamper mugs.... with some smellies and some chocolate.
Will have to take pics at my fair on Saturday and post.
Not done this fair before so fingers crossed will be ok. need to sell all the bits.:o
Trying to earn some pennies from crafting again this year!

  • hi all! REALLY must catch up with this thread its been far too long! need some peom advice im making for a friends birthday a cuppa tea and a cuddle (cure for everything!) in a box, which consists of a bone china mug, hot hotwater bottle with a nice cover and a handmade cuddly toy all in a cath kidston style and maybe some nice tea bags and home made biscuits (although shes on a diet so not sure) all in a nice box. soo i wanted a poem or something to explain what it is rather than it being just stuff in a box.

esmer - what yummy cakes you make:T

tina - another fab 'make' -love the material you've used:T

pinktreefairy - I've got these poems if they help at all

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea
But since I can't...I'm sending you
    With love.......a cup of tea

    Tea Cure All:
Tea that helps our head and heart
    Tea medicates most every part
    Tea rejuvenates the very old
Tea warms the hand of those who're cold.

When you're feeling sad and blue
And have no clue just what to do
Sit down and have a cup of tea
Add a hug or two...maybe three
    Feel those troubles melt away
And help you have a better day

I cannon sit and chat with you
The way I'd like to do
So make yourself a cup of tea
Think of me...........I'll think of you

    Hope that helps:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
