NiceGuyEddie wrote: »Hi all,
I'm toying with the possibility of making either a wooden shape-sorting cube or lift-out shapes puzzle for a couple of babies birthdays I've got coming up. Has anyone made anything similar before? Or have any other ideas for handmade gifts for babies/toddlers?
Thanks x
I havent made any wooden stuff but this might help you.

Cuddles thats fab. Did you print onto the fabric yourself? Very unusual and looks brill.0

Actually its not brilliant at all. I can see all the faults.
Yes, I bought the transfer paper on ebay and did the printing. Had some problems as it kept jamming up in the printer.
Also the printing makes the fabric very stiff so that it doesn't fit the curve of the ball very well.
May have to go back to the drawing board.

excellent job, I love the colours and the printed bit, as you wont be washing it you could just put the fabric through the printer [stick it to some paper to make it stiff enough to go through], another alternative would be to write on the fabric using a permanent marker, they come in lovely colours now, if you want to you could trace the writing or lightly write on carbon paper to transfer, then write over it with the pen.cuddles123 wrote: »This is what I've been experimenting with this weekend...

The best thing I have found for printing on fabric is Bubble Jet Set, you soak the fabric, let it dry, run it through the printer, let that dry and wash, fabric is left with no stiffness or artifical finish, brilliant stuff.Sue
Do I need to eat it
Can I afford the calories:eek:
have I checked for a lower calorie version:T0 -
Thanks Sue.
Think the problem could be with the design of our printer.
The paper feeds from the bottom, so needs to turn as it goes through, unlike those that feed from the top.
OH is a bit wary of putting just the fabric through in case it jams.
Never thought about using a pen for the writing.

If you're gonna write on it then a denim blue promarker might be the colour you'd need, they're permanent.
I've never bought any from this place - I just wanted to show you the colour. Please shop about.0
