Brilliant! that is now so easy to make, I looked at other tutorials and just didnt get it! I felt lost in a sea of material and stitches. Where do I get the fusible interfacing from?
Dont know if this is cheap or not

Little Miss Moneysaver - a morse bag is always a good place to start if you are learning and wants something simple yet functional. Crayon rolls are also popular with beginners.
Esmer - Like Cuddles I get mine through ebay as well. You can buy it in sewing shops but its cheaper on ebay. Just make sure you get the right weight.
Great thread btw. I did a completely handmade Xmas this year and everyone loved it. Much more personal and I also enjoy giving handmade things more than I do something out of a shop anyway so its a win - win. Hope to get some great ideas from you all throughout the year. x
your pickled grannys and bums are brilliant..being checky here but how do you make them please?0 -

The same for the knitting needle case.

Cheers. I make them from tights. Im going to do a tutorial at some point but they are really easy.
Grannies: Cut a square from some old tights (use double width or they end up too thin) Doesnt matter what size of square. The bigger the square the bigger the bum/granny). Put some stuffing in the centre then sew up all the ends together tightly so you end up with a circle. Make a stitch in one side of the circle and another a little bit away then pull quite tightly to make the mouth. Use black embroidery thread or seed beads to make the eyes. Get some copper wire to make tiny glasses and stitch to the face with a couple of small stitches here and there. I just used more stuffing to make the hair (just stitch in random places to fix) Put them in a jar with some straw or rice (straw is better) making sure that they are all facing outwards to hide the stitching then I just cut a circle of gingham fabric and fixed with an elastic band then put ribbon round it and made a label for the top of the jar.
Bums are made in same way but you just stitch from bottom to middle of the "circle" to create the bum then put a little bit of pink blusher on each cheek.:D
Smelly Bums are done using pot pourri instead of straw and Beach Bums are made using sand.
Hope that all makes sense!! If not let me know.0 -

Been on a shopping spree on ebay.Armed myself with wadding awaiting quilts patched together from fabric used from knocked down priced curtains from littlewoods.
Also bought some interfacing for crayon rolls and needle rolls.
I am looking at threads on ebay.I thought I would prefer to buy a clear thread rather than different colours.
What thickness should I get or strength and will I need a 1000 mtrs ?SWAGBUCKS Nov 17sbs redeemed; 2 x £5 Amazon
