Yes they do have the right to their LLs details. They need to write requesting this. The LA have 21 days to provide it or they are commiting a criminal offense.

They do need to move, do not let them sign another AST now they are on a periodic tenancy. Could they move in with you for a couple of months?

If the flat really is that bad then a call to the environmental officer at the council. This will probably destroy the relationship between LA/LL and T but slumLLs need to be brought to light or another T will suffer and the next etc. EHO can either serve LL with repair order (not sure of exact term) or move Ts out immediately (if serious enough). If LL won't follow their instructions then they will do the work themselves and bill LL.

When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.
  • Thanks so much for advice...:)

The LA has admitted to the kids (in front of myself and hubby) that this flat is only really suitable for one person.... Why didn't they tell them in the beginning...
Anyhoo we will ask for LL details...Can they contact him direct to ask for help with windows and heating? do they have to go through the LA?
The flat is only cheap and i think they don't want to move in with me (not always see eye to eye with boyfriend)...
Can they fix things themselves and deduct from rent? justy don't know legal rights...
