Sterilise the jars in the dishwasher if you have one. The make bath salts and layer up different colours - then a nice cloth over the top to finish off.
  • If you use oranges instead of lemons and add some spices like cinnamon & nutmeg it makes the curd even more festive! :)

I made some as a test run the other week and it was really nice (I don't usually eat stuff like that) so my family will be getting jars of it as presents. :)

If you want to Sterilisethe bottles you can get some Sterilise powder from boots a few quid i think (its stuff i use to Sterilise bottles for my homebrew) and its great stuff only need a very tiny amount.
  • Me and my girlfriend have collected about 50 or so old jars now, we used them at a party to hold candles in. A great success, just make sure you bring them in before the rain.

One year I hand painted glass jars ...wrote the persons name on the jar in Tulip paint and filled the jars with bubble bath and tied a ribbon round them. They looked lovely. I did not wrap them in paper - I bought Christmas fabric and made fabric bags that were tied with ribbon as well ...my goodness...I must have had so much time pre children!!

    Hi

someone on freecylce has given me lots of jars to make the brownie's xmas craft thingy (i'm brownie leader)-I like your idea
    but

    1. what's tulip paint?
    2. Bubble bath ? -is it just a big bottle cheap stuff you decant into the painted ones?
    3. Is there someway of making coloured bath salts?

Everything has to be mega cheap-30 Brownies and not much money.

Posted about this in another thread but line the garden path with t-lights to light the way for Santa.

Another tip for doing this is cut in half a 2lt plastic coke/pepsi/lemonade bottle and put the candle in the bottom half and put the top half over another candle as long as the cap is off that half.
