    Wow that sounds lovely...but yes I have 2 children and time is of the essence!

    So shove them in the oven? Sounds like a plan to me...didn't want to psend money on sterilising equipemnt really you see.

    to sterilise them you just put the jars in boiling water for a while.

  • Great site, might try and make a few rice recipe jars and put them in a mini hamper like them spice sets you pay a fortune for in all the shops at xmas!!

    spiced rice ready to prepare? I wish I remembered where in the net I found the recipe.
    Try them also as packaging of a theme gift that will vary according to the receiver: if they like sewing, pack it with haberdashery, if they like DIY put tools in, or accessories...

  • You'll probably find the old fashioned sweetie shop quite expensive per quarter, how about checking Tesco and Asda for their big bags of boiled type sweeties, open them and mix them up into the various jars you make up.
