Not at my door :D But thats the Risk any Cold caller would take when choosing to knock on my door ;), Pitfalls of the job I guess, its one of the reasons I would not degrade myself to begging at peoples doors.

Again told to ignore, "As most people have them in the window from moving in or not knowing what they are"

Police come check our id and send us on our way, thats all they do, Others I worked with said they get annoyed when people call them regarding such issues

I imagine the Police would be irritated, especially when its obvious these cold callers are so desperate they CHOOSE to ignore blatant signs, pretty much telling them they have NO CHANCE of selling their tripe at this door.

Its why people opt for the abusive or aggressive approach I guess, failing that, the fun in watching them choose to ignore the "Beware of the Dog" sign up until its too late. Whichever it is, they generally yet (eventually) get the message loud and clear.

Sometimes its best to take the hint first time around, saving wasted time, aggressive or abusive home owners, or particularly the snarling dog. ;)

And that makes you a big man eh?

And how do you know that someone is selling something just because they knock on your door?

They may have found your personality in the gutter and been trying to return it.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Or maybe they have a job to do and the police are irritated by the reports not the cold callers ;)

North side of the City, I can safely say I have not had Apco knocking on my door, quite possibly because they don't ignore the sign on my door.

I have certainly had no beggars, either begging me for charity, begging me to buy their junk or begging me to sign up with a deal of a lifetime, so GOOD in fact, they feel the need to risk ignoring the signs and inviting themselves to BEG anyway, just in case I didn't mean it.

Sympathy votes to their mission, evaporate the second they swing my gate open.

Maybe, but personally I could not care less either way, so long as they know to stay off my doorstep, they should be fine ;)

No not really the Big Man, maybe your clutch for straws is getting so desperate you will pluck out just about any random point, whether relevant or not to the thread.

If they have found my personality in a gutter (cannot imagine how this is physically possible but......), I have NOT invited them to return it, nor have I asked them to, want them to, are happy for them to. If I have thrown it in the gutter, I obviously did not need it to impress my household.

I usually know if someone is selling something when they try to sell something, (the clue to a cold caller is the junk they are offering), normally cold callers have learned this step by now, maybe you need further education to understand the concept of what a "Cold Caller" actually does.
