I have used Groupon many times with no problems.
but I bought a Hollywood White home kit on the 13th December for £17 (rrp supposedly £79. I paid £6.95 for next day delivery. I have received nothing, they do not answer the phone or respond personally to emails.
I have however received lots of slightly dodgy emails from them, as such -

Any idea where to go from here, has anyone else had this problem?
I know it's a small amount of money but I am on a training salary and every penny counts.
Many thanks

You could just call up asking them to cancel your order - it's a lot of money for what is essentially toothpaste, and it sounds like you could use hthe cash. Also, do be careful that this isn't a repeating contract you've entered into - I know some effectively toothpaste companies in the US which advertise VERY heavily a discounted/free trial which at the same time signs you up for the full price product every month. It's probably not the same deal, but do check - after all you'd be gutted to find you were tied to a year of toothpaste at £80/tube.0

Ah I know of that scam and it isn't I checked carefully.
It is supposedly mouldable gum trays, whitener and a uv light.
They never answer the phone, at least it is freephone.
I maybe need to search for their head office details.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Ahhh good, glad to hear you checked it all out :-) People seem to have limited luck getting through to groupon, so maybe keep hassling the hollywood teeth company and agree a date by which if it hasn't arrived the order is cancelled? It may focus their minds?!0

Thats a good idea, if they are actually reading my emails.
Thanks for the advice.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Might be easier to contact Groupon and get a refund off them

I also ordered from them and had the same emails and as yet have not had my goods. I tried to ring them today but they have a dedicated message on the system regarding the 'postal delays' (it's January for heavens sake and these were ordered 15th Dec) nor can you speak to anyone as you have to leave a message and they'll get back to you........all a bit dodgy!!!!0

Hi
I ordered the same deal on the same day. My wife has just rang me up telling me that the kit has arrived today.
However she said that it is just a kit in a cardboard box with tissue paper in it. It is not in a Presentation Case like GroupOn said it was. It was meant to be a present as it came in this case, but she says that she would not give it like that.
There is obviously an error about this, whether it is GroupOn or HW I do not know as it says nothing about a presentation case on HW website, but would not order from these again thats for sure!

Hi All
Saw this deal on groupon again - did you guys receive your orders? want to try but hesitant if they aren't shipping goods! Thanks xx0 -
Not happy to see Groupon and KGB Deals etc offering "deals" from these dodgy companies (teeth whitening, acai pills etc).
Beware also of this current national "deal" from KGB Deals for Acai Pills.
The company offering the deal hide their details using domain privacy - always a big red flag:
http://whois.domaintools.com/pureacaiberrymax.com
The £44.77 non deal price for a months supply is a huge rip-off! (90 x 500mg capsules for £45)
In comparison Holland and Barrett is £5.76 for 120 x 500mg capsules.
http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=1625&prodid=915
Or iHerb is £7.24 for 100 x 500mg capsules:
http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Acai-Super-Fruit-Antioxidant-500-mg-100-Vcaps/13037
So £5.76 or £7.24 (both for a larger quantity as well) vs £44.77 (or £13.50 for the "deal" price).
Both about 80% cheaper than pureacaiberrymax.com !
Not to mention all the totally unsubstantiated health claims made on the KGB deals site for this product:
Pure Acai Berry has been named by the media as the number one superfood in the world. It is renowned for its antioxidant, anti-aging, energy boosting and weight loss qualities.
- Detox: aids in ridding you of toxins, free radicals and other poisons
- Skin purifying: helps to give you visibly brighter skin
- Anti-aging: helps you look younger for longer
- Increased energy levels: can clear the toxins that slow down your metabolism
- Resistance: reducing toxins can help you avoid allergies and illnesses
The Acai pill company (like the Groupon deal teeth whitener company) is in the USA so good luck sorting out any problems regarding non delivery etc."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Hi all
Came back to this after noticing they were advertising again today. I still haven't recieved the kit or had a reply from Groupon or Hollywood White. Neither company answers the phone either.
To the previous poster, this isn't the same as one of thosescam sites where they take repeatpayments from your card, yes it is a shoddy operation but it is definitly a one off purchase.
Would sill be keen to hear if anyone has gotten anywhere with this?Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
