I have looked at Spamassassin before but understood it was a mail server based package to run on Unix/Linux - is there a PC based product? Some of the open source plugins even involve using ocr to read the text in the image.0

I use SpamAssassin for MDaemon, it's an add on. I haven't tried any of the plugins as I haven't needed to yet. I'll see how the filtering goes over the next few days.0

That's not a good idea IMHO. All that does is confirm to them that you have a valid email address. Remember that they will send their nonsense to thousands if not millions of email addresses, much of which will be old or non-existent mails. Best thing to do is just delete them.0 -
I get up to 20 of these a day. Having nothing better to do - I read a few of them about a month ago. And found several where, in the normally random text outside the image, there was some data to the effect 'they' had several million shares in the Co they were pushing.
All of these shares had been provided free in lieu of advertising charges. They would be selling them in the next week 'whereupon the price would go down'!
And this in a mail (all different usernames / domains) inciting me to buy. Is this some sort of double bluff:rolleyes:If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
