Thanks, wadewade. I've been getting loads of those too and will forward them to the email you've given.

Depending on who your email provider is if you can block email with images that might sort the problem out.

Spamfighter is a blocker with a free version which claims to do something about image spam. Anyone tried it? Maybe my next call after I uninstall Ihatespam.

Yahoo seems to do a pretty good job of filtering them. There must be an email list somewhere that we're all on.

I have been getting lots of virus attachments via my O2 (forwarded from Genie) address. After long and useless conflab with O2 Customer Care I now just forward these to them at mycarewebform@o2mail.co.uk.
I get an automated response, but each one then has to be read by someone in India.

What a pain they are! I run a mail server and it's just now using its heuristics to get to grips with these Stock spam mails.

I keep feeding the mails that get through the filter back into the learning folder and lowering the threshold. By the end of the week, I hope to have blocked them all!

Interested to see how you get on nickmack as the Learning will fail with image spam.

No! Never reply to any unsolicited Spam!

buglawton, I managed to use a combination of the heuristics and a new SpamAssassin rule to block that damn stock spam. It's been running for 24 hours and so far has a 100% detection rate and 0% false positives. I am very pleased as we're getting 20,000 spam emails a month!
