Tesco sold me out of date baby formula!

There are no different laws for baby food/milk, companies are just extra cautious as parents tend to over react slightly, case in point being the OP. Baby is neither up nor down, tescos are investigating and offered compensation but OP still isn't happy.0

You're not allowed to exchange/return baby milk - I think that's the only way it differs to other products sold0

I had a similar situation many moons ago but this time the formula was bought from a small independant chemist.
For some reason I noticed the BBD only after Junior had had a couple of feeds and was mortified to realise it was a month out of date.
I contacted trading standards who then did a secret visit to said chemist and found there were other tins of the same formula on the shelves.
From memory I think they gave him abit of a lecture on stock control and I was given a replacement tin of formula, together with an apology.
As far as I was concerned that the end of the matter.....I certainly didn't want his head on a platter which the OP seems to want.2014 Target;

the milk in your chest is enough to last over christmas and has no expiration date, 100% perfect for an 11 day old newborn.
even SMA themselves on there advert specifically say 'that nothing can replace breast milk'
I'm sorry to say this but I think that you are being a little pompous by saying this. Not everyone gets on with breastfeeding or indeed feels comfortable with it. The poster has obviously decided not to breastfeed and so bought the SMA in good faith from her local TESCO. No need to comment on breastfeeding here.Baby Bump born 4th March 2010! :kisses:

I am unsure as to what i want really, maybe some reassurances as to it not happening again.
If you want to ensure it doesn't happen again, make sure you check the dates on the things that you buy. Particularly on things that you are feeding your newborn baby.
Job done."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I actually have no idea, I just know it did. I've only worked there for a short timeFrom Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
It won't do the baby any harm. The expiration dates are safe dated, which means it's probably got another couple of months left before it even starts to go bad. Don't worry.
As far as what to do, I say nothing, you were offered compensation, you declined. Just be careful to check dates if buying from that store, as perhaps they are lax on date checks?0 -

This isnt true. My husband is a Copo manager and he does date checks daily because the scanner cant help.the milk in your chest is enough to last over christmas and has no expiration date, 100% perfect for an 11 day old newborn.

The poster did have a good point though.
