I suppose I should have expected this: french company hence french customer service standards!"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -
As I've said in another thread on this subject
- Applied 24th November - received confirmation email
- 25th December - noticed that the Quidco had been denied
- Received 29th December a letter dated 29th November with my details saying if there's anything wrong with them to contact them
- Received 5th January a letter dated 21st December saying that they had been trying to contact me and as they failed they had cancelled the contract - note, no phone calls or emails have been received by me in that time
- Phoned EDF 6th January and they said it was all the fault of my current supplier for not providing the information but if I contacted them I'd still get the contract as well as the welcome bonus & Quidco. Next I'll be told I don't own the Brooklyn Bridge.
- Received 6th January a letter dated 1st December asking for meter details & readings.

Beware of the meter readings, even if everything is going swimmingly everyone should confirm EDF have used your opening meter readings properly. See my other thread about getting a shock from my old supplier who sent me a large bill, it seems this is because EDF didn't supply the final readings properly to NPower in my case.
EDF are not a great company customer service wise, the only reason I am switching to them is the fantastic deal they have on this offer, no other reasons.0 -
I Finally got my 2 letters today gas/electric

Glad to hear that you finally got your letters, nyck.
And wonderful news about the online system being down for maintenance *sighs*.
My dual fuel switch from British Gas to EDF is still beautifully in limbo... and a new development is that I'm now going to be moving to an "electricity only" property in a month's time.
I honestly don't think I've got the stamina left to explain this to the staff at either BG or EDF. And would they care anyway?0 -
They may care as I'm sure they will want to gather as many new customers as possible prior to their anticipated price rises in March. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Do not switch they are the worst supplier going, I have tried to pay my bills for the last year online and by phone and the site does not recognise my barclays debit card, the phone line does not understand the acct number and after eventually getting through to an advisor...1 hour...they could not transfer me to take a payment, this is ongoing and all my friends are experiencing the same, avoid at all costs you are making a big mistake!!0
