who would i complain to ?

im not sure i understand quite what you are saying but untill after the 1st test she wore glasses all the time so there were no problems ,the problems started a short while after she stopped wearing the glasses .
Assuming the previous glasses were just correcting the distance prescription, then they wouldn't have helped this loss of focus.
I'd be more worried about the sudden onset of symptoms, even if they were only a few weeks after the 1st sight test.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

if they are investigated and believe they have done everything right then wheres the problem ,i believe they were wrong and i have downloaded the relevant form to complain.
If they have done everything right, then they will spend several months with a cloud hanging over them and under great stress, which they have done nothing to deserve. Please think very carefully and be sure of what you are looking to achieve before going down this route.
Personally, I'd get a 3rd opinion elsewhere 1st, before taking any action. Either they were wrong or something happened soon after, which caused a sudden change in symptoms - I'd put my money on the 2nd option.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Alternatively, I know my eyesight is sharper some days than others - if I'm tired, for instance, after a big night, if I'm really stressed, etc. Perhaps she just had an off day/good day here or there which skewed the results.0

hope this makes sense;
ASDA [all measurments relate to distance] RIGHT SPH +0.75 /CYL-0.25/AXIS 180
LEFT CYL -0.25/AXIS 90
2ND TEST;RIGHT [distance] SPH +0.50
[near] CYL +2.00 [reads like 200 assuming its 2.0]
LEFT [distance] same as right
Hi Chrissyg
Sorry to hear about your problems. Just after some clarification on the 2nd test. Are you saying that for distance, both right and left are SPH +0.50 and for near the only box filled out is on the right eye for CYL +2.00? (nothing for near on left eye)?
That prescription would be incomplete as for CYL there is alway an angle associated with it (between 1 and 180). It is also unusual for opticians to work with + powers for cyl (although dispensing opticians often work like this)
Would you be able to have a second look and repost just in case one of the numbers is in a different box (e.g. for varifocals I would have expected the +2.00 to be in the ADD box and the same for both eyes)
Many thanks0 -
If you've complained to Asda and got nowhere, you may want to make a formal complaint about the optician to the General Optical Council.

Are all opticians supposed to be egistered with the above org ? i did complain to them and recieved a reply today saying theres no one registered with them under that name !!

All individual practioners have to be registered with the GOC by law. Corporate bodies (e.g. Ltd companies) sometimes do, depending on whether they use a protected title or not. Did you complain against the practioner or the company?Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Just a thought - it could have been an Ophthalmic Medical Practitioner (OMP), in which case they wouldn't be under GOC jurisdiction, or show on the registers.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.
