Morning All,
Just a quickie from me as I am waiting for my DSis and niece and nephew to arrive for a couple of hours, we never managed to see them over Christmas. Shock horror, we had soup and sausage rolls for Christmas dinner, and had our Christmas dinner yesterday:rotfl: DS1 is really ill with the lurgy again today, DH is much better, and we have all eaten far too much chocolate
Hope those of you feeling ill are OK, and having some rest.
nmlc, I read your post yesterday and my heart sank for you, I have some stuff I would like to pm you which may help if you don't mind?
Hugs spoons and hi5's. BBl8r

Right then we now have a plan for today :j:j
The twins have gone off to my moms.
We are off to the local shopping center , we shall have a look around the shops. We don't really need anything but shall be looking at the sales to see if there is anything that we like and is at a bargain price.
We will then go and have a pub meal out.
Just need my wife to get dressed and we can go. By the speed that she is going at we should get there for about midnight:rotfl::rotfl::jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Afternoon All
We had one of the nicest Christmases this year - just us and the kids, it was lovely DD's BF came yesterday and he loves the Boxing Day buffet that I do. Would you believe that he had never had Gammon before and he loved it
Inlaws couldn't make it because MIL has hurt her back and is laid up in bed. So we have invited them for New Years day instead.
Neighbour just knocked to say that his old ariel has dropped off the chimney on to his roof  so DH has gone to get his long ladders to help him get it down.
Well we are just going to pop DD and her BF down town cos her friend has her birthday tomorrow so she has got to get her a pressie.
have Good days everyone and (((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))) to all the poorlies xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hello all,
2 visitors gone to-day, the rest are here for dinner to-night and head off to-morrow.
Its been a strange Christmas, just one small child in house for Santa and her mother (who has lived in this country for 11 years and been in the rough and tumble of Christmas here most of those years) still hasn't got the whole thing and got her one small thing, no stocking or bits at all and I didn't realise it until C'mas morning, too late to get any bits for a 3 year old! Because of our water situation DD1, DS1, DDIL1 and DGD2 all stayed in my brother's, DD4 and DGS2 stayed the last 2 nights and we had a visit from Hannah Louise, DGS2's little sister and her parents yesterday....he was thrilled to see her and they had a great chat...we got some lovely photos too.
Roast lamb with celeric gratin and leeks for dinner, hopefully we will finish the trifle at last, nobody seemed to be in form of eating puddings so am trying to get rid of it to-day. Turkey carcass has been stripped and is currently boiling for stock, some turkey I will leave in fridge for sandwiches and rest will go in freezer....maybe 2 dinners worth, so not bad value really.
The most wonderful news I have is that there has been a thaw and we are at last free of snow, almost all gone and I think that we will miss the snow that people will have in UK....a whole month of snow is as much as I ever want to see again.
An old remedy for coughs is to slice a turnip( swede, neep) and cover with brown sugar overnight, use the juice as linctus, bit of thyme chopped in would be a good addition, it seems to be pretty good for throats and coughs....no guarantees of success I'm afraid but don't think that it will kill you either!
Hugs to all who need or want one

DS2 working overtime at Morrisons, DS1 on the radio, DH and I at work today so its all go here!
Leftovers from yesterday for tea.
Hope everyone's well, will read later.

Well we had a lovley pub meal of steak and chips. We also ahve done a little sales shopping. We got two sets of clothes each for the twins and my wife has had a niteie and a dress. I think she spent about £65ish in totel. Her and money dont stay friends for long:D
We wet into the asda too and picked up a large silver side beef roasting joint. Its one of there extra, taste better top of the range ones. It was only £5.85 and we do us for sunday dinner and money evening dinner too. But as its new year this comming weekend we may ahve it on the saturday. Not sure yet as we have not planned anytyhing for new year.
Dinner tonight will be a asda take away curry they are on roll back at £5.
We really do have to start doing some meal plans in the new year. Not only to save money but also so we know were we are to plan and save time.
Its been raining here this afternoon and washing the snow away. about harf of our snow has now gone. But my wife says that there is some more very cold temps and snow on the way.

Hi All
Better late than never, peace reigns here finally after a busy day with 14 0f us here, 5 aged under 6. All the children loved their presents but it was a BIG mistake buying sticker books, every available surface is now covered in stickers. I had lovely cuddles with all the children, youngest is 7 months old & has a terribly mis-shapen head, but is full of smiles & giggles.
I made turkey curry which everyone enjoyed, trifle & chocolate brownies, which they all took home with them.
It was lovely to have all the children & grandchildren together, the DGC are a bit confused cos they call me Nana & the DFC call me by my first name.
I hope everyone had a lovely day.
Hugs Hester
