    HHC at 10.45 anyone?

    Moam

I'll join you; I need to clear the leavings from last night's entertaining, in time for tonight's guests :j
I'm going to write a list of things I want to do next year. I'm great at writing lists of chores and getting them done but absolutely dreadful at making time to do the things I want to. That was my aim for flying in the first place but I've never taken that final leap so next year I will. Anyone want to join me?

Count me in :j DH and i have a long walk on Jan 1st (his birthday :D ) and make plans for the coming year :T

Still ploughing through DD's room - it's depressing me now - there's still so much to do!

    How old is DD??

For my older teen, I don a gas mask and put everything into black sacks and leave them outside (regardless of the weather). I will wash bedding and hoover/wash the floor but if its not away then it goes into a sack (including wardrobe/shelves etc).

I then allow her to do each bag at a time. I refuse to allow the sacks back into the house and she has a certain amount of time before I take them to the dump. So she stands infront of the bins and sorts a bag them. Dirty washing goes onto the grass as its going straight into the machine.

So far its worked. Last year I took 3 bags to the tip she hadn't cleared and 2 months ago, she managed to get all the sacks in the garden sorted within the hour (but it apparently wasn't possible to do that in the comfort of her room? Go figure). Knowing that I mean it, she has started to keep the room cleanish. I am not expecting showhome standards, heck no! Not if mine is an example (!) but I do expect it reasonably tidy and smell-free. She is 16 and finally starting to learn.

The younger ones I make them help me when we do a clear up and they have to put the toys away at lunchtime and at the end of the day too. And they have to make their own beds except the 2yo, obviously!

It works for us and should work better when we move into the bigger house.
  • i'll join you in scheduling me time too!

Have been to see GP about back. He has given me some diclofenacs and told me to go back on Tuesday if no better - and he dropped hints about not going to work next week at all - I ama aschool dinnerlady - much lifting of tables and carrying of heavy trays involved!
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
  • Morning all

    My list for the day:
WM all of DH's cycling stuff which, unbeknown to me, got really wet and muddy and then hidden under a pile of other stuff to fester. Nice!
    Finish the ironing
    Vacuum upstairs
    S&S kitchen
    Mop the floors
Make nibbles for tonight's drinks party

And try and shake off this rotten cold! How many of you are similarly suffering and battling on through it?

    More rubbish out of kitchen.
    Livingroom floor now found.
Rhys all dressed and ready to go.
Wet washing now hung on rads and another load in.

Now to go get the birds fed. Boys can tidy room again when they get back, it's a complete tip. DD needs to do her's too, mind you it's not overly bad. Plan later is to do out a big sheet with bedroom rules for each bedroom. If it's not done then pocket money will be taken away. If it doesn't work they can live in there mess. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Morning all

Sockdrawer - Good luck for you DH

Mumof2 - Good luck for the docs appointment today.

Helen Jelly - Hope your dad gets better soon.

Dusty - I'll join you. I've got 2 A4 diaries for this year, one is household (to keep all the finances in check and services etc) and the other is my personal one (tracking food/drink/exercise with the aim of shifting some weight this year, Aunt Flo now I'm on different tablets, making 'dates' for myself for pamper sessions etc so I can use up the mountains of toiletries I have and who knows, I might even start painting my nails again since I have enough nailvarnish :D)
    Tuesday...
HHI - Going to leave this until DD comes home and I tackle her laundry.

    Wednesday

    Change some of the bedding!

    Personal list:
[STRIKE]Set Budget for 2011[/STRIKE] - going to sit down with DD and go through what I'm proposing. She may only be 10 this year BUT she's got to understand that money doesn't grow on trees and things are going to be tough for a while until I can get the debts paid off. Also need to discuss pocketmoney with her - she can have it one of two ways, she earns it or she gets given it and pays for EVERYTHING for her out of it. Personally I'd rather she earns it so we'll come up with a wages level with bonuses ;)
    Check on OU course stuff
    Print out calender
Washing - towels & whatever DD bring back.
    Wash up

I'm off to check the bank, email & then going to throw a wash load in while I wash the dishes. Going to do very little otherwise while I wait for DD to come home. Going to enjoy the end of my reign of controlling the TV before DD comes home and hogs it to watch all her programmes that I've recorded for her:rotfl::rotfl:

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Morning all *cof* *sniff*
    I have a cold
    DS has manflu :rotfl:
wierdly we have EXACTLY the same symptoms :rotfl:
It appears that the Flylady for every occasion mantra is still going strong and we have a mechanic in 'the building' - Dippy - I am fascinated by the landy posts - but like Hex I don't understand them - but at least I now know who might fiind my new screwdriver as exciting as I do! LSB got this for xmas but he already had one. It has 6 interchangeable heads, a little torch and a ratchett (ie it locks as you tun it) but the BEST bit is that the heads are held on by a magnet on a wire which extends for picking things up - ie dropped screws!

been to the PO and posted the e bay sale. Collected DD's presription - well the rest of - as these two place are next door a two birds one stone errand - love them!
