Full refund on Half Price TV?

Just a different perspective, but they contracted to provide you with a certain tv. They will try and fix it. If they cannot then they should be obliged to give you one of the same specification. If they refuse stand your ground. If you ask for a refund then I suspect other posters are correct and you will only get £250, however if a replacement to the same specification costs more then they should pay the extra after all they are contacted to provide you with a tv as paid for. You may be in for a fight though.0

Mmmm, I came on here because I thought I would receive some sensible helpful advice, not to be treated like a moron. I was obviously wrong. As an Electrician who posts on DIY forums, if someone says they have no power to the lights I don't say, 'Its obviously your circuit fuse has blown you thicko', I suggest they check the fuse or breaker. It's obvious they didn't know to do that otherwise they wouldn't have asked. I simply wanted to know if I had any right to get a same spec replacement if the original was bought at half price. Somewhere amongst the sarcasm I gather I am not. Thank You.0

You may have missed the point. You are entitled to a replacement of the same spec. If that is not available then you can ask for a refund.0

Unfortunately a number of posters on these boards are bad-mannered idiots who get a kick out of insulting others in the guise of 'helping'.0

Couldn't agree more. OP, ignore the nasty comments. Not all of us on this forum are so ill-mannered. Your remark about calling people thickos on the electric forum you frequent gave me a good chuckle. I'm sure certain posters would throw a huge strop if they were talked to in the way they talk to people, when just asking for advice.
Good luck with getting a replacement. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
