Forgot to mention - Primark (in Croydon, but I'm sure all will be doing it) are selling off their Xmas stuff.
They were selling reindeer teddies holding a pair of socks for 50p from £3.0 -
Excellent idea about the note pad, I think I will have a section of it for birthdays also.
I would like to have a go at crafting some pressies, but the thought of all my pressies being made is scarry! I'm not that gifted!
Thanks for the link for the sock monkey instructions (sorry forgot who posted it)
Like the idea of hampers, not too difficult to do, I will have to think of a theme for everyone, I find it so easy to buy for my daughter and mum, its the boys/men I struggle with!
I have been on some freebie web sites, quite alot of them have toiletries to give away, will try and collect them over the year.
This Christmas I bought a couple of teddy's from £!land and knitted them a scarf each, they looked brilliant (If I say so myself, I'm so modest!) I also got a couple of free PG Tips monkeys with my tea bags, I put them in the kids stockings, my son absolutely loved his (he is 13!).
Took tree down todayand put in the loft. For the lady who likes to change her colour theme each year, last year I got loads of lovely green baubels from QD, they were very reasonably priced.
Have a good evening all.🎄The most wonderful time of the year 🎄0 -
My family always take the mick out of me for my notebook and my spreadsheet. I like to think its more me being organised rather than OCD.
Took some sale items back to Next today which I didnt like and exchanged them for a Just Pink 4 perfume set. The man serving me looked at me like I was crazy when I said they were to go away for Christmas. :rotfl:0 -
Good Evening People
Well reading thro all these fabulous posts has got me started now
So here are my christmas plans for 2011- This year Im saving with park £600 for the love to shop vouchers (Ive done this for the last couple of years so Im happy with them but I wouldn't touch their hampers or gifts)
- Morrisons saving card already started £6 so far :j
- Im starting the £1 per day challenge but into an online bank account
- Im starting the what I have saved shopping challenge and that will go into another money box
- I already do the coppers etc into an old whiskey jar and I must admit I top it up with over flow change I swop out at work when we get maxed out with it
- Just created an account for the surveys and will see how I manage on them
- Ive just ordered my stash of christmas cards and wrap etc from Paperchase at hugely discounted prices and a couple of stocking fillers already for DD
- I shall still make my christmas cards for the special few thou rather than the 50 I sent this year!!!
- I will be sticking to the £20 per person limit on pressies for my family ~ wish we could impliment it for my OH's family
- I will once again be making small fancy hampers for the difficult people in my family using as many bargains I can find to make them look tons more expensive of course
- Finding more goodies at car boot sales too
- And last but not least I will be making loads of handmade bits to save on the big spend throughout the year ~ handmade jewellery, sock monsters, notebooks, purses, brooches, keyrings and chutneys!!!
thanks

What/Where is QD? I can't find any green anywhere - I think everyone has had the same idea as me for next year :rotfl:0 -
hello all not posted before but will join in this year if thats ok - after discovering other threads part way through the year for 2010 i didn't have time to read it all so can follow this one from the start!!!
definatly making hampers this year and pots of gold as teacher/assistant presents love that idea.
so far i have brought next years xmas cards, wrapping paper and special xmas cards ie husband, daughter, son, etc
also loads of smellies from boots/next/wilko's for hampers.
sorted my present cupboard out and made a list of all that was in there (2 sides of a4 lol) think that will be enough for most birthdays and kids parties etc.

QD are quality discount stores, similar to home bargains but not all places have them. have you tried ebay for green decs? thats where i got all my purple from. the other 2 things i thought of - ask on freecycle or buy white/silver and speay paint them with car paint.
right i'm sorted with my ideas/bought/orig price/i pay price spreadsheet, all ready to add bits to.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:
