at christmas all I really have to buy gifts for is my parents and my OH, I'm a young adult who hasn't got kids yet...so if I get sorting out any xmas pressies for the parents throughout the year, I'm going to have to hide them well, as I live with them & mum is usually home! shall see what I can do! hehe :)

I have bought all my Christmas cards in the sale and put them all together in a special box. Have also written a list which is a combination of who I sent cards to/received cards from so that next year I have a clearer idea of my card list. I have put the list in the box :)
  • Hi all
I would like to join in! in 2010 i went bankrupt, so we had to really sit down, sort out finances, budgets, etc. so this xmas just gone, was tighter than normal, even though i had been saving, but only since august! i made some gifts and we really cut back. this year i would like to buy better presents. In addition to the lack of money, i want to be more creative and make things, and in addition to that! i want to get good presents for people. things they will actually want/need rather than just guessing or buying any random things!
so far i have bought a few bits for nephews and a photo snow globe from hawkins bazaar for MIL. i want to make and buy bits, so people get a mixture of both!

  • I went to my local Tesco yesterday and they were selling off wrapping paper nice gold and white with foil writing for 50p a roll (4 metres) and on a 3 for 2 so effectively around 33p a roll....I bought 6! Don't think it will be cheaper anywhere else and its nice paper. Also noticed today M&S selling gift tag packs for 25p, and ASDA selling lots of cards for 50p a pack - I always buy gift wrap tags and cards in Jan sales cos they don't eat or drink - can put in attic and forget about them til Dec! Also stopped buying lots of family cards a few years back because at £2/3 a time gets pricey - I buy packs of photo cards in the sales half price and then get a nice pic of the kids reprinted on photobox - that way you get nice personalised cards for about 50p each!
