I know interest is calculated daily but is it added to the balance daily or is it added once a year - Im just wondering if the figure i see on my online account includes the interest incurred so far this year.

Yes it does. Its updated each day/month.

On my h/f account its added daily, although I cant see it online as increasing daily. When I do a overpayment and it hits the account it updates for that day then it freezes again until another op or the normal monthly payment comes out.

    I hope I've explained that o.k :)
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

Thats great news, Thanks for letting me know. I was worried that when i get my annual statement in April the balance will suddenly go up.

I dont like Halifax's online statement, All it gives is a total balance so i cannot see the payments i have made. I can see from my own figures that the OP has been applied but it would be nice to see it in black and white.

Been a bit naughty this week, Only had 1 NSD due to the chocolate addiction.

Had 2 sick children since Tuesday and have had no sleep at all for two days, Very tired so my boss let me work from home - Petrol saved!

I was reading Sunnydays diary last night - WOW i would love to be in that position now, I even looked at my ISA thinking about taking the £1.5k out of there and chucking at the mortgage for a little push. I would still have my emergancy fund but its in a bond so i cant access till Oct. Will think a bit more about that.

Well i will have to write that week off, did not manage any NSD and twice i went to the shops and spent on things i did not need. i did however keep under the food budget, spent just £28 as i am going to use everything in the cupboard.

Need to renew my passport - cant believe how much they charge

Must focus, I have 2 weeks on Wednesday till payday so not long to go before i can get exiced again.

Still pondering on whether to use the money in my ISA as another OP, Its only getting 2.75% interest and my mortgage is fixed at 4.69% so financially makes sense.

Time to go to work now.

Sunday again , Only managed 2 NSD and had an expensive shop as i needed baby milk and Nappies, although DD is almost ready for normal milk soon. I also needed some toiletries as i had completely run out. I was still under budget but only by about £1.

Posted my passport form off yesterday so thats another £78 , Money is going to be tight this month but im determined to OP at least £600.

April will be hard as the MOT is due and i cant be sure how much it's going to cost.

Got a letter from my CC yesterday, I complained to them as although they said i could have some bonus points i never got them. There was a long list of what they investigated and at the end they confimed my complaint was justified and have credited my account with the points and as a gesture of goodwill they gave me extra points so in all i got 10,000 points which equates to a £50 gift voucher. This will cover Mothers day and DD birthday.

Going to try for 4 NSD this week , Need to get back on track before payday.

Not been a bad week, my quidco account has £35 ready to be paid on 1st Aprill and i have sent off for my CC vouchers. Going shopping now and hope to be under budget so i can push up the OP this month. Its payday on Wednesday so i will be able to finally work out the total OP for March.

Keep Going, Keep Going. April is the start of a few hard months (April Mot, May- haven holiday, although already paid for so only spending money needed) Once past May i have no other big expenses bar Christmas and Birthdays so it will get easier.

    Need to keep pushing myself.

Payday has been and i have managed to save £600 to OP, Just need to wait for a cheque to clear so i can send the payment. I have a funeral to go to next week now and its 4 hours away from home so it will be an expensive week for petrol, Not sure if we will stay over yet if we do that will be a hotel bill as well.

Focus for April will be to get below the £80K mark, It was almost in reach this month (if i used my ISA as an extra payment) but after the pesky interest its just out of reach!

Money finally sent to the Mortgage, I have been dragging my heals on this payment mainly because im worried about the costs i may incur in April, especially my car.

I decided to keep back £100 so that added to my Budgeted emergancy pot gives me £200. Once the car has its Mot i will then put any leftover(if im lucky!) money back in the OP pot.

The next Quidco payment will cover DS's Birthday party, We are going to a local farm and have managed to find Free child tickets so i only have to pay for the adults, I looked into paying for their Birthday package but it would have cost around £50 more and all we get for that is Sandwiches so im going to make up our own picnic.

Will post this months balance next week once the latest payment hits the account.

    Still im almost on target

  • Wow, well done you! I'm really impressed with all of your Quidico payments, ive only managed the one cashback and it was for a small amount, mind you I don't spend much. Still, I'm starting to look at ways to make this work for me more.
