It was going so well this week until Thursday when driving home the engine light came on:mad::mad::mad:. It normally comes on every year and every year it has ended up costing me a minimum of £500:eek: so im not very optimistic.

My mechanic is going to look at it on Sunday so hopefully i should know then what the costs will be.

Only managed 3 NSD's this week, Going to the Library with DS today so will be a cheap day.

1 items listed on ebay today, hoping to make at least £20 from that.

Mortgage balance as at today £86122.56, Making good progress but need to stay focussed - especially when i find out later today the cost of my car - So tempted to just scrap the stupid car and buy a nice new family car but if i could just hang on to it for 2 years i would be so much better off.

 So happy, the mechanic has been and checked the engine light, it turned out to be a filter that needs replacing which will cost no more that £40:T:T:T

Mission for the week - try to achieve at least 4 NSD's

Hi Emsky, tonight was my first read of your diary...so a very warm welcome from me :D You sounds extremely focussed on what you want and how you are going to get it. Like you, I have been reading diaries for a while and although I am yet to make my first OP, I am focussing on savings and cut backs and paying on small debts first. Shouldn't be long tho before that elusive OP is all mine ;) Helps me keep motivated by still doing a diary though.

Fab news on your car and a big fat PHEWEE!! :rotfl:Good luck with all your NSDs for this week...

    1st NSD completed.

I phoned the bank yesterday to check how much i could still overpay in this rolling period, It turns out that my big overpayment last year was in March when i thought it had been April, This means that i have until 10th March to OP the maximum in this current year but i doubt i will be able to as it would mean i'd have to find £4000 in 3 weeks.

I am not to worried as i have still managed to OP by 63% of the rolling year limit. After March i can OP more as my limit will be reset if you see what i mean.

Cant belive i have been back to work nearly 3 weeks now, feels like i have never been away.

1 item already sold this week on Ebay and posted this morning, Just listed the next item and also put two items into the free papers.

Did the weekly food shop this morning and only spent £40 so £35 underbudget:j

Should get my quidco payment of £35 this week as well so it has been quite a good week:D

I only managed 3 NSD's this week but one day i had to get petrol as i had to drive to a meeting but its ok because i can claim the mileage back on expenses and will get back alot more than it costs as they pay for wear and tear.

Have also now reached £42.50 in Mr S points so have enough for a free weeks shopping although it took so long to build the points up im reluctant to spend them as the balance looks so good!

Im hoping to have around £100 to Op next week and the following week is payday so i can send the normal OP

Must Keep focused - short term pain = Long term MASSIVE gain!

1 week till my birthday - Is it wrong to ask for birthday cash from my OH so i can make another OP;)

    Task for this week:-

    4 x NSD
    Sell ebay item
    List more items in freepapers

Must find a cheap way of providing cakes for work on Friday, Our office has a habit of trying to outdo each other, what started as a 99p pack of doughnuts has turned into what can only be described as a picnic with cheeses, crackers, crisps, sweets and cakes (Mr kipling)
Picked up some pringles for £1 the other week which i put away so thats one thing less to buy. Going to attempt to make the cakes and not worry about anything else as its the thought that counts

If anyone complains they wont get anything!

Well yesterday was not a good day, i decided to go to Mr M and ended up buying all the cakes for Friday although everything i bought was on offer.

I got my expenses paid for mileage which was double what the trip actually cost me so i used that moment to pay for the cakes.

So far this week i have managed 1 NSD but i know my petrol light is going to come on at any point so im going to lose anothe NSD.

Received all my payments owed yesterday, Funds from an ebay sale, Quidco cashback and have around £100 left this month so going to send that to the mortgage next week with my normal OP on payday:T

Im quite suprised at the Ebay item i have for sale this week, At the moment there are 75 watchers, Thats the most i have ever seen on any of my items, Still there is only one bid but it does not end till Saturday so hoping for a last minute frenzy!

No calls from my ads in the freepapers so will have to add those to ebay next week.
