Thanks for all your comments...i dont want to 'rock the boat' anymore, he has specifically sated not to email...my question, if i email him to say can we leave it and both agree to pos each other and end the situation, if i pos him have i got anycome back if he turned round and neg'ed me or am i stuffed either way?

I don't think you do have any comeback, it's very much a trust thing.

The seller could even report you to EBay for feedback solicitation (i.e. you leave me pos if I leave you pos) if he wanted, so I would do it from another email account if possible.

Maybe the best way to proceed is to do nothing. They are not likely to leave feedback if you don't so it's effectively a stalemate.

Well i'm sure he will lose out as he won't be able to claim back the final value fee. This seller sounds a bit strange treating customers like that.

I think the seller is being a bit sensitive! You obviously got the item for a snip! I wouldn't be offended as it wasn't a personal attack as you don't know who you can or can't trust! however I would be insulted by the tone of the replies- You may think you were getting the point accross - which you were but it sounded c0cky! with this business you need to be able to be polite to everyone - you don't know who you are dealing with! Even if you feel annoyed best approach is to Kiss a*se!! - I find it helps and have got out of sticky situations by being really apologetic etc

Pity about your dealings with an obvious muppet.

There appears to be so many on Ebay i decided a long time ago that you will occasionally come across a disagreable character from time to time.

I too have had the odd experience but the thing that strikes me most about your concerns is your worry over getting 'negged'.

I have a good feedback rating but got 'negged' totally unfairly. I have also had a couple of 'neutrals' and do you know - I didn't feel a thing.

Too much importance is placed on this system of qualifying buyers and sellers.

Personally, I don't give a monkey's if I buy from someone that received a neg or two provided that he had some positives.

Try driving your car without upsetting someone. It's almost impossible and such is life.

If you get a 'Neg' So What?

You probably won't and it's better to not leave any feedback at all although this totally destroys the whole purpose of feedback, which is why I claim that it's totally pointless.

BTW in my opinion you provided this buyer with the excuse that he was hoping for and will now go on to sell the item for more money.

Move on.
