Hello Ladies!
I have been a long time lurker on this forum - and I mean long time, back in the days when this used to be the UFO thread and not the Cafe thread (hangs head in shame!). I catch up on posts most days so feel as though I know you all, although you don't know me!
I don't know why I have chosen today to come out of lurkdom - maybe it is so I can say a huge congratulation to Chicky 'in person' on the safe arrival of the very cute baby Noah!
I wanted to thank you all for keeping me stitching on my projects - when I lose my stitching mojo a bit it always helps to have a nosey at what other people are stitching!
My latest cross stitch obsession is Gentle Arts Sampler threads. I treated myself to some to complete 2 Waxing Moon designs rather than using the Anchor conversion and I am in love with them!
I can't promise to be a regular poster - but I can promise that if anyone needs a;) or wants to try out a new type of thread or fabric (I love linen and evenweaves!) and I can help in some way I will.

Thanks for the welcome - I feel at home already!
Not that I want to tempt you all (I am naughty!) - but there is a whole world of threads out there other than our everyday Anchor & DMC, just look at Sew & So.......
Just out of interest does anyone use Madeira threads for their projects? Magazine patterns always give thread listings for Madeira alongside DMC and Anchor but I have never come across anyone that used them exclusively....just being nosey.
I have a few Madeira metallic packs that I won in a Cross Stitcher comp a while back and have never used them. If anyone fancies them feel free to PM me and they are yours......0 -
welcome out of lurk-dom Mrs Milkeybar Kid !
re the metallic thread - funnily enough i went to get some DMC metallic from my local store and she'd sold out and hasnt a clue when she'll get more in due the labour strikes in france aparently it could be a while. i can't remember the number but i'm after an 'old gold' looking metalic thread, if you can help, or suggest a different brand?Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Hi Spiral!
The type of metallic threads I have are Madeira Metallic No4 (I can't post links yet so Google should do the trick!) The gold one is number 4024 (antique gold). If its any good to you you are more than welcome to it - just drop me a PM. How much did you need - I may have some other types lying around.......
To anyone else that is interested I have (in the same thread type) colours 4012 (amethyst) 4052 (malachite) 4033 (aquamarine) and 4060 (black pearl).0 -
Welcome, Mrs Milkybar Kid, and I second *Louise*, once you throw off the lurker cloak, you can't put it back on again0

Congratulations Chickywiggle! Hello baby Noah.
Sweetcarer - thank you very much for the email. I've just got to get some fabric and then I can start. I can't wait as it's so colourful - I'm getting awfully tired of oranges, greens and browns.
Update on Forest Walk - second page completed! Yay!

Welcome Mrs Milkynar Kid - looking forwards to seeing pics of your stitching soon.
Chicky - Just read your birth story - took some doing as I have a phobia to pregnancy/giving birth to the point where I faint when people talk about it!!! You definitely need to get that complaint in. How's he doing anyway?
Started work today which was OK but very tiring - the ME & fibro are still lurking and weren't too happy after the amount physical work I did today. Going to give in and have a stitchy rest day tomorrow. Nothing done today.Cross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A
