Blimey! Had a couple of pages to catch up on

Louise. The frame really sets off the Gorjuss girl, she's lovely.
Tigerlilley. Popcorn calendar is very cute!
Ejs. I love the Kingfisher, such lovely colours used. All your finished projects are looking fab I really need to pick up my needle again soon!! Thanks for the kind comments and advice, I'm going to take the plunge and try the lap frame and see how I go with that.
Emma
I recommend these types of frame http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran997-0.html though to use them comfortably you need something like a small table in front of you to lean the frame on or ideally the floor stand that is made for them http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Posilock-Floor-Stand__FLO-POSI.aspx
I have a couple of frames (so I can mix & match them to get a perfect size) and the floor stand and I wonder how I ever managed without them.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Here's my weekly progress update, a bit later than usual as I have been 'Dad sitting'

Yes, got the craft bag - it's really handy for delivering my cupcakes in with the zip down side!!!
I wouldn't get too excited about the tin with CS - I love collecting them for all random things but this is very average.
...Had my interview this afternoon - seemed to go well. May have wangled myself into the events management side of the business (which i hadn't realised they have) so keep your fingers crossed for me!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

I thought my copy of Cross Stitcher had arrived today but sadly it was my two knitting mags. I can't knit if I am being honest but want to try and get better at it and took out a subscription using my club card points and then did 5 mags for five pounds with the other mag. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow :j I guess the free gift this month then is:mad:
- out of interest, what do people prefer ? a stitchy gadget / chart book / or a free kit ? I prefer the free kits - even if its not a kit I would stitch, I can make use of the material / threads etc.
I am planning a very quiet weekend. stitching and poirot day tomorrow (three in a row!) then just possibly some housework! and more stitching on sunday. happy stitchy weekend all. hugs to all who need them :grouphug:0 -

nykied That seems to happen a lot with the freebies now .
When I was on sick leave I did the squirrel in two days and then the fox in two days. But I wasn't really doing anything else
At the moment they don't progress so much as at home I prefer doing the dog and I am not getting that many opportunities to stitch when out and about."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

There have been some wonderful pictures posted recently. Well done!
I am so behind with kids shows - ever since my late hubbys family have stopped me seeing the kids somehow - yes, they promised when he died I would always be their auntie but now I don't get to see them - I don't get that. Finding it hard today as it would of been his birthday. I know I have remarried but I still miss him - am I wrong feeling like this still.
And yes, there is some wonderful work being done in here - I hope to start stitching my wedding sampler this weekend. My tin arrived squashed and then broke as soon as I opened it up
My tin seems to be okay but it does feel flimsy like it could snap in two - not very pratical. Did they not learn the lesson after the mirror fiasco....Had my interview this afternoon - seemed to go well. May have wangled myself into the events management side of the business (which i hadn't realised they have) so keep your fingers crossed for me!
Hope all goes well for you. Hubby was at job centre today to sign on - don't know why when he doesn't get benefit. He has been told he has to go to a back to work talk - only been unemployed 2 months. We are just managing but I panic each time we go to the shops and go overboard - trying so very hard to cut down.
Hope all is well with you all in your own part of the world - kind wishes to all.
sweetcarer
:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
ejs good luck hope you get it.
Marru Thank you for telling me i might have to fit stitching those into my list too now.
Sweetcarer that is terrible of your late husbands family but sadly it seems to happen a lot. Thinking of you and wishing you both well.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20
New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
Tigerlilley - The Popcorn months are adorable!!:TWas that a kit or did you compile it together yourself? And the African Lady is very strinking

Chicky - total respect to you being able to sit through the Night Garden Live - I can't flipping stand it, all that plinky-plonky music makes me want to run away screaming :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
cat_g - perhaps you would have been better off not knowing!! Honestly, it is addictive just looking at the pictures!!:o:rotfl:
ejs - the kingfisher is beatiful :j:T
Marru - lovely doggy stitch, you need to show us your progress, and those woodland characters are so sweet:D:D
Emma - Good luck with that lap frame, you won't regret it!
Shelly - That's pretty good progress considering how much you've had on your mind this week. Backstitch, like in a MP design, will bring it to life in seconds:j
Flat Eric - I prefer a small kit personally. All these tins and things are all very well, but they don't last 2 minutes. The only other gift I wish they would bring out again is the zippy folders, CS did a couple years back and I still have them - very useful for storing individual projects.
Sweetcarer - sorry to hear that
It's a sad situation. You're not wrong to still miss him, he was a big part of your life. If anything it says a lot about the type of man he was if he is still missed so much years later xxx Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. That lion is coming on nicely. I'd get bored with all the different browns - I am doing the grass on my Old McDonald at the moment, and I am bored with that!!0
