Oooh Erics Mum - can sympathise with the veneers. Had mine done originally when I was 18 due to damaged enamel and they kept pinging off all the time. Unfortunately had to pay to have them replaced last year (after 13 years) as dentist didn't tell me they only last approx 10. Am already saving up for next time
Gorgeous work again from everyone. I think I have about 2 days stitching left on the Kingfisher then I can get back on track and finish Titanic - hmm... wasn't that February's challenge!
Have a lovely small kit to do when I go to inlaws for Easter. Hopefully we'll do a lot of sitting in the garden in the sunshine ... it always seems to be tropical in Essex compared to up here!
Anyway, hope you all have a lovely dayCross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

Forgot to say, I just got a phonecall about a job interview! It's only for 8 hours a week but that would let me see if I'm up to any 'proper' work at all (ESA people think I am) and I'll also have time to play at the cupcake business too!
..sorry, I know that's not stitchy news but I'm quite excited about the thought of spending time with people in the day and earning some pennies! :jCross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

Commiserations to all those who have to go to the dentist. I've just had a crown fitted. I often have to have multiple injections because they don't always numb the tooth correctly and I only realise after the drilling has started. My dentist is also a perfectionist so she won't let me out of that chair until she is satisfied. I try and think about other things, like stitching, and leave the door grinning as it'll be another six months before I have to go back!#19 Save £12K in 2019 challenge. Target = £10,000. I can only manage it once a year.. too much stress for a girl more regularly than that - oh and it costs a piggin' fortune. Tonight's 30 seconds will be £25!0

I've noticed that all your WIP's look pristine - how do you manage it ? No matter how often I wash my hands and the hoop the aida always gets mucky and creased. Where am I going wrong ?
Not so sure I would call mine pristine, but mine is in a lap frame so hand contact with the fabric is minimal.
You shouldn't worry about it though - it'll all come out in the washtellmeitsfriday wrote: »Maybe we just iron them before taking the photo
I wouldn't dare - I would be scared in case I 'set' the blue pen marks :rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi Linda. The Rennie Mack tile is coming along nicely, I love the colours it uses.
To reply to your question above....I use a frame and the fabric on my frame is rolled inwards so that I stitch 'in the well'. So when I touch the fabric I am only touching the back of it.
Also for me having something to lean the frame on is a must so that touching the fabric is kept to a minimum. I used to lean the frame on the edge of a lowish table but now I have a proper stand and I really wouldn't want to be without it.
Oh and lots of handwashing
Louise. New heights looks very sweet already.
I got quite a bit of stitching done yesterday on the Winnie & Tigger design. I kept thinking 'I'll stop in a minute' but as I didn't have to prepare tea for anyone but myself I just kept going.
I want to get it finished as soon as I can if i'm honest because the quarter stitches are driving me nuts!
Just a little update on my Dad. Apparently there was talk of him coming home today but yesterday he was put on IV antibiotics for a chest infection that could see him staying in for another week. I'm visiting tonight so will know more then.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi again everyone, I have been lurking and watching everyones wip some gorgeous work here. I havn't been posting because I havn't had time to stitch a lot at the moment. Things just seem to be getting so hectic by time its chill out time i've no patience for my stitching. I started my HAED but the material is so big i am finding it is hurting my hands to hold it all in the hoop. So I half heartdly started number bears to do inbetween but like I say i'm cream crackered I think I need a kick up the backside.
I will try to get some photos of my completed work which is stuck in a drawer waiting to be framed and my two wips.
Hope everyone is keeping well and has more energy than me!!!

Have had a lovely morning cleaning and sorting school work then nipped out with kids for some fresh air and ended up at a garden centre - lots of free fun looking at all the water features, pets and playing in the playhouses! Unfortunately they are both taken with a £600 playhouse (that aint gonna happen) and have now both turned into whiney kids who believe they are deprived:rotfl:On the other hand I have found a new-to-us one on ebay that would need picking up but is only £99 - just got to work out who could dismantle, fetch and rebuild it for us as dh is a no-hoper at anything diy-ish.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hiya everyone, well my stitchy bug is well and truly back, it must be the nice weather!
I've now restarted my Popcorn Bear calendar. It's been on the go for about two years and was nearly finished, when I went and lost a couple of the thread colours and couldn't work out which floss numbers they were. anyway after sorting out my threads the other day I found some colours and have managed to match them, yay!!
Hopefully it won't be too long until it's finished then that's another one off the list!
Hugs to everyone who needs one, and hope the babies make their appearances soon xxMarried the most amazing man 05/12/09 and it was the best day ever, I'm a Mrs, he he!!:jWins 2009: Peroni Alessi bowl woohoo, 1 in 10 wins DVD from Maltesers, Avon lippy!!!Freebies-Bold Gel, CoffeePinecone Research - £9Mystery Shopping - £150
