Sorry louise didn't mean to concern anyone. It was nothing really just me having a diva moment or so i've been informed. I was asked to babysit my 2 and 3 year old grandchildren last night and when i said it's awkward to manage with having limited mobility i was told well i'll collect them about 9 and take them to the playgym . At 2pm they were finally collected with no apology nothing just a word about how nice it had been to have a 4 hour asda shop and breakfast there too without the kids . This is the second week in a row . so no more . we had to leave at 2 to take my eldest sons 2 boys home as his car broke down and he doesn't get his new one till tues. Finally got back at 6 had tea tidied all the stuff away they'd had out and just sat down but not for long i have a mountain of ironing i would normally have done this morning.
sorry to moan but it finally got to me today. Normally i don't complain about these things.

No wonder you're annoyed!! (Don't worry about sounding off on here btw - better out than in)

I hope at the very least they came bearing gifts for Mothers Day??

It's lovely when Grandparents look after the kids for a while (big thread running on the families forum the other week) but it should be seen as a favour, not a right. We would all like to go on a 4 hour Asda shop and have brekkie in peace lol, but not at someone else's expense.

    (((hugs)))

    Morning all!

Still working hard on my sisters prezzie, should have it completed easily within the week.

    End of Day 2:

All the kids have gone back to school/nursery today- all have been ill at some point over the past two weeks so it's good to see them all healthy again (and out from under my feet lol);)

Too quick Louise! - I think I'm going to have to try the erasable pen on my next new project!

Crickett - Lovely coaster, very pretty.

As for the previously mentioned ironing, I went on ironing stike when hubby refused to clear out his wardrobe so the ironed clothes didn't get creased (he's not a believer in decluttering!). Anyway, that was about 3 years ago and he's since got very good at doing his own! As for me - mostly my ironing is pressing a seam on one of my projects or something!

Hope you all have a good Monday x

Just popping in with a quick hello :)

I'm another one that doesn't iron, in fact the only iron i do own in a mini one for pressing seams and stitching!

Hope all the Mums had a nice Mother's Day.

No stitching done since last week I'm afraid, too busy with Mother's Day stuff (and the Hobbycraft sale :D)

On the other hand I have baked two cakes (for Mum and MiL), made two cards and some other little things for mum so I don't feel entirely unproductive!

Love the Michael Powell Flat Eric, the colours are beautiful.

Congrats to you Crickett on your coaster, and to Louise on your progress too. Looks like you'll finish Gorjuss tonight lol

I'm going to try and get some stitching on the cathedral done but need to job hunt first so we'll see...

    Happy Monday all x

    hello all

beautiful photos posted:T hope everyone had a lovely mothers day yesterday my DD brought me an erasable marker:T in white for my navy adia project (little star that she is i only had to drop one hint)

im mad as heck with myself ive wasted two weeks of stitching by starting in the wrong place. the scissor keeper im doing from a kit came with only just the right amount of adia id marked out the 10 squares but started 10 up from where i should have done so her head wont fit:mad:, i didnt realise till id done her long skirt and the flower basket shes holding. then i suddnely thought her top half was going to look out of proportion:eek: i think it will just go in the bin as it will waster more time trying to unpick it and the wasted piece of adia is only about 3inches by 6inches as i can still use the otyher half to do the back of her. i just hope i can match the threads if i run out.

what a lot of pages to catch up on!

shelly - doh! sorry i forgot the happy coupple was yourselves!

tellmeitsfriday & louise - those gorjuss charts are lovely. louise, wow you stitch so quickly and neatly and start a new one so soon! i have too long between projects! i must procrastinate less. i must procrastinate less. i must procrastinate less. :rotfl:

Cricket - the coaster is lovely. is that metallic thread? it looks very effective. i think there are instructions in the first post on page one on how to add pics from flickr.

    Mrsmoneypenny - oh no!

Erics mum - that MP is just lovely, the backstitch really brings it out. i love your idea to have a collection of little villiage scenes. they are looking so nice it makes me want to do similar!

Ahh I understand the fear, I can't wait to see it though.

These are kits I bought at the show but basically its just normal aida sandwiched between a keyring (you can get some with the fronts off). These were £2.99 for the complete kit but I know you can get empty keyrings on ebay for a few pound.
that makes sense. i'll look into it. i think the keyring my car came with is removable and the garrage were so useless i shouldnt really advertise them anymore!
thanks. i should have made a start today, but i havent. i must procrastinate less. i must procrastinate less. i must procrastinate less. :rotfl:

I'm moving tomorrow, the council agreed to let us exchange and said they'll sort the electrics after the move :). It means I'm losing internet access for about 3 weeks, I've no idea how I'll cope! I will sort out that pic of my finished cut thru rocket once I get back, and hopefully I'll have got properly into a new project by then!

:T :T :T wooooo! that's brilliant news! i dont know if you're able to read this but i dont care. posative congratulatory thoughts being sent out into the ether to you! :T :T :T

I got so annoyed with a garage I bought a car off once (had to go back 4 times about the same thing), that I ripped their sticker off the back window, cut the advertisement bit off the tax disc holder and took their keyring off my keys.

I left them on the passenger seat the fourth time I went back. They were gone when I collected my car ;)

Even using Louise's tip of marking the ten squares I am so very slow. Never mind will keep going. Actually have never been so far in front of myself. This is for my nephew wedding which isn't until June 2nd 2012 - yes next year.:D

Must go now and do some cleaning. Once I have cleaned a bathroom I will reward myself with a bit of stitching.
