........ Must write a letter to Dimensions tomorrow as I have now 3 symbols which can't be stitched due to 2 colours running out:mad: Has anyone had any luck with this? The only address I can find is in America.

I am blending 4 strands on this one for some symbols but I have never done 5 before on anything else I have stitched.
I have Gracious era in my stash, may just go and gaze at it now:D

    .

Do you know if the missing threads are DMC and their numbers? I've got almost the whole set of colours (I stocked up in Florida in Nov ) and I could send you some - it would be quiker than waiting for it to fly the Atlantic !.

My daughter is called Isabelle too and I just noticed that Moosmummy has an Isobel also, 3 people with good taste then:D.
Second time only I have asked for anything on here but could I have a ;) of Isabella's garden if the chart is not too massive for you to do please? I love Lavender and lace designs.
In my Isabelle's room she has 1 Winnie Pooh, 3 flower fairies, one row of teddies and a birth sampler all made by me or my late mum or my mil. She loves them.

Well my plans for returning the stuff to Next and putting the curtains up didn't happen. We all went to the park and I did loads of stitching on Rocky point. Must write a letter to Dimensions tomorrow as I have now 3 symbols which can't be stitched due to 2 colours running out:mad: Has anyone had any luck with this? welcome again to the 2 new ladies today, can't believe how many new ladies have appeared in our cafe since Christmas, pull up a chair, get your stitching out and someone out the kettle on:T everyone is really nice and helpful here.

It unusual to run out - but there have been plenty of tales on here when companies have been really good in these situations. Sending out whole sets of thread, or a whole skein of the required colour.

Is there an email on the website - before you write to them x

I've just realised my biggest hoop isn't big enough for me to finish my cut thru noah's ark. I can't do the widest parts, and I hate to crease up the bits I've already sewn by catching them in the hoop. I'm going to have to get a new stand and frame, but I've been missing my old one anyway. Where does everyone get their frames from? I got my old one from a little shop when I lived in Wales, but the sewing shops here are pretty limited.

I'd always advise a quick google for prices but usually this site http://www.sewandso.co.uk/index.html comes out cheapest for me. I got both my scroll frames from here and can't fault them.

t4mof. Gearge looks great, very lifelike.

Louise. Very cute fireside mice and how organised are you giving it as xmas pressie next year! :D
Mind you I have been thinking the same about my mice on their bike, might give it to Ruby for xmas or even her birthday.

Well I finally got some stitching done last night! Used my new stand for the first time and it's great. Only problem I have now is where to put my clipboard that holds my chart. When I used the table my frame leant on the edge of it and my chart went on top of it. I have been trying to rest the clipboard on the arm of my chair but it's awkward as I can't just glance at the chart whilst stitching. I like the chart in front of me and using the arm of the chair puts it to the side of me.

Anyone who has the Posilock floor stand....do you also have the chart holder that clamps to the frame? Is it sturdy enough for me to mark/colour in the chart as I stitch or is it really just to glance at the chart as you stitch?
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Kec 09 I love all our yesterdays too. I haven't done many though .

I love the lavender and lace designs too . I have a drawer full of charts but haven't stitched a single one yet . I did buy the evenweave and all the threads to do one of them but found the thought of evenweave quite scary so decide to do a bit more ordinary stitching first.

Siince coming on here i finished my ufo but my to do list has grown ten fold. lol

Chiccky thank you will pm you. Just ordered some aida so just need to sort threads now.

I have one Shelley and found it good when I was stitching the Dictionary of Tea, I have a magnetic chart holder and I found I had to pad the clamp with tissue to make it tight enough to hold it, then it was stury enough for me to mark the chart without it all falling out!
With my teddy I'm not using it because the chart is smaller and even though I enlarged it, I couldn't go big enough without the symbols getting blurry!

If you use your scroll frame "in the well" you can rest your chart on the bottom of the frame which if fine for me as the teddies finish a good 6 inches from the side of the frame ;)

I could add a pic if you want as, reading that back, I'm not sure if it makes sense :o

Oh my is all I can say :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::D

Its going to be one hell of a project :rotfl:

Can I record here and now that this is my ten year project :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

and to the poster who said about stitching with 5 strands, this design features 2 strands for the cross stitch but for the half cross stitch, we have 3, 4 and 5 strands used  For some of the backstitch its 3 strands !!

    I think I need a lay down

Flipping heck, I would need a lie down as well......

All I can say is....good luck with that one, look forward to your progress pics for the next 10 years.... :D:T

I stitched that one a couple of years ago - still lying in my 'finished' pile :rotfl:

Wow, I just looked up that European Bistro kit ! That looks impressive, it's bigger than anything I've ever done. Good luck with it, you've definitely got the right description by calling it a project :D

I am a huge fan of easy clip frame. Ive not used hoops for years, I could never get on with them as they always creased and as a majority of the projects I do involve beading they just arent practical. I buy mine from sew and so and they are so simple to use and because you only clip the top and bottom of the fabric to the frame you don't end up with the unsightly creasing that can happen with hoops. I would never use anything else tbh.
