  • Bought a Panny a couple of weeks ago. S series Plasma 50"

    Excellent panel, highly reccommend.

Advise buying from John Lewis or Richer + warranty.

I think 1080P is worth going for. Blu-ray displays in true HD (1080P) and I can certainly see a difference.

P.S AVForums is a massive source of info on these, worth checking.
  • Yeah sorry guys. Panasonic all the way. There stuff is cutting edge (3D camcorder, glasses and TV). If you want a good tele then go for the bush one. Lets remember this is a money saving forum so if you have the money go for the panasonic, if no t then nmaybe the bush. Have you checked out qudico for cash back?

The pany all the way, dont buy some cheap stuff like the bush 1

if you get it from currys/dixons then dont be pushed into buying a hdmi cable for £10/£20 when you can get 1 for incredibly less on amazon well its your choice as its your money
  • What about this one compared with the Sony 40" at £399? LG 42PJ35042" PLASMA TV £349

Doesn't make a difference. Even on a 42" one, you'd need to be watching closer than 6ft to get the benefit of going from 720p to 1080p and in addition to that, Freeview/Freesat HD, Sky HD and Virgin HD don't do 1080p.

I am quoting from my Sky user guide " Sky's HD service uses two HD picture formats . The first , 1080i , brings" ..etc.
When I select the HDMI input, my tv confirms 1080 input from Sky so I don't understand why it should not be 1080.
On the question of buying Bush vs Panasonic - for goodness sake of those two buy a Panasonic. Mine is superb and came with a 5 year guarantee .

I don't mean to hop on your thread but while knowledgeable people are on here.
I've just decided to buy a flatscreen tv. I don't know anything about tv but I'll it to be HD and perhaps have freeview built in. I think a 37 or 32 inch is what I want. It appears plasma is better than LCD from the post above?
I'll appreciate if you could send me a link or info bout the best deal. I'll like to buy it before the 4th of Jan.
    Thanks.

I wouldn't buy a Bush anything, i don't know why but they're a bit like buying a Skoda or Lada car.
Having said that, Skoda are now amongst the top buys.

You can't get 32" plasma anymore, well not new, so it's 37" or above.

Bit bigger but the 42" Panasonic at £350 is back at Dixons:

Don't forget 3% Quidco as well.

If you want a 37" try RS, different TV slightly better connectivity:
