Just got a Humax 9300T which we've installed ok but have a problem with the BBC1 and 2 channels. They just freeze up and as you only have one frame on screen they are not watchable.
It's only these 2 channels that are affected.
Please can anyone tell me how to remedy this, or does the machine have to go back to the shop when it opens up again?
Thanks.

Me, I'd do a Default Setting (page GB62) then rerun the Installation Wizard.
If that doesn't work then, yes, back to the shop (or try Humax support online - but maybe not today!)0 -
Loads of info here if you haven't sorted it yet.0

We've got one of these. I think your problem may be through it trying to get the London BBC1/2 (which is different to your regional BBC1/2). Usually, when our box does this, it will have the proper regional (working) BBC1/2 on channel 801/802 instead of 1/2.
Press the Guide button and go to the 800's and see if it has additional channels there. If it does, they should work and be watch-able.
Sometimes this is fixed when it does an automatic re-scan every few months, but sometimes not!The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Just got in from Christmas dinner at my son's house. Too much Christmas cheer to check it out now, but I'll look at it again tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who very kindly offered advice and I'll get back to you tomorrow with my update.0

I've got the same box with the same problem, it was also missing recording; I found out it was due to picking up duplicate signals from different transmitters (I live on the board of two regions, so got from both).
If you have a lot of 800 channel numbers you might have the same issue.
To fix it you have to use this site to locate your true transmitter and the tuning numbers to manually tune the box, it then stops the duplicate 800 channels.
http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodechecker/main/index/dummy/NA/yes
You have to enter your postcode and tick 'that you're an arial installer' box to access the tuning numbers, and then on your box select manual tune and just tune those 6 numbers in, you should then have all the channels and no duplicates.
It's a pain since you have to remember to do it every time you retune your box.0 -
Thanks Chorlie and bowling. We've now found the BBC 1 and 2 channels as you suggested on 801 and 802 channels but it's a bit of a pain that these channels are not in the standard listing with all the other channels.
Do you know if there's a way of fiddling with the box so that the BBC 1 and 2 can be retuned to be where they should be with the other channels? Sorry but I'm hopeless with technical stuff...!0 -
It might also effect the recording of these channels, it did with me; it would miss recording the program unless I was already watching that channel or turned over to that channel, so it often recorded part way through, it missed all my last xmas recording but a manual re-tune and this year it's worked perfect.
You'll need to use the link I posted above to find your transmitter and the tuning numbers then tune just those 6 numbers.0 -
Do a factory reset first and then cancel / stop the auto tune, this will delete all the channels you have already and will start from fresh, you then need to do a Manual Search to tune your box to just the one transmitter.
http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/
The reason for doing a Manual Search is to target the six (five after DSO) multiplexes coming only from your preferred transmitter. The UHF channel numbers for your six/five multiplexes (digital channels) from your preferred transmitter can be obtained from the digitaluk web-site (above), enter your post code and also tick the "I am in the aerial installation trade" box. Your UHF channel numbers are in the grey columns in the Coverage prediction section. The compass bearing for the available transmitters at your address are also shown so you can check to see which transmitter your aerial is actually pointing at. You should only use the transmitter that your aerial is pointing at.
First you need to delete all existing channels.
Menu > Edit Channels > Edit Channel Lists > Password (0000) and delete all TV channels, note there is a Select All button. Go to Group, select Radio and delete all the radio channels. Press Exit on the remote control and when invited save all the changes.
You will now get a message saying No channels are available……, press OK. You should now be taken to the Installation menu, choose Manual Search. Select the first UHF channel number obtained from the digitaluk web-site for Channel (actually the order doesn’t matter) and press Search. When the search completes, Save. Select the next UHF channel number for Channel and press Search.....Save. Repeat this for all six/five UHF channel numbers and to finish press the Exit button. You will now find all your Freeview channels on their correct numbers with none in the 800 range. Good luck.

Thanks Chorlie...bit daunting, all that though isn't it? Would you say it's worth persevering as obviously it's going to be a problem if I don't, if it is likely to miss recordings too?
Or should I just return it to Currys as I understood it to be just a "plug in and use" peice of equipment?0 -

It sounds more " daunting " than it is in reality, should only take a few minutes to sort.0
