I would respectfully suggest it is more like saying the car will do 150 but only when conditions are right.

I see, you are for some reason unable to select the cotton wash which results in a spin speed of 1200 rpm.
It does actually spin at 1200 rpm as you have now confirmed and when you said it couldn't you were confused, perhaps the result of too much Xmas sherry0 -
