As this is an older washing machine now it doesn't appear on the official BOSCH website (or not that I can see anyway) so there's no way of checking the specs they advertised. But doing a google search and looking at the other places that are selling it, none say anything other than either "Spin Speed : 1200 rpm" or a couple say "Maximum Spin Speed : 1200 rpm".
Other reviews of it seem pretty good. If you haven't used it that much could you put it on eBay for some cash towards another, quicker-spinning machine?
*edit*
Apologies, I've just read that it's not on their website because it's exclusive to certain retailers. So perhaps we'll never know that end of it!"The most desirable trait of the internet is the ability to attribute quotes to anyone."

Wii man, all comet have done is sell you something, they didn't design it to only have a max spin of 1200rpm on cotton wash.If the washer is faulty or they gave you the wrong machine, sure get back to comet but this is info you could have found out from reading online reviews nso hardly their fault.
If you'd specificly asked Comet if it would spin at 1200rpm on demand and they told you it would then you could claim it had been missold, but it seems you didn't and just want someone to blame.0 -

to be fair the reviews regarding the spin speed were written after i bought the thing.
why would it not spin at 1200rpm on demand ? why would anyone expect it spin less than 1200rpm on just the spin programe ? why bother advertising it at 1200rpm if that is the case.
that`s like saying my car will do 150 but only down hill utter pointless statement.0 -
Does the washing machine spin at 1200?
Oh hang on yes it does.
So Comet not at fault in any way then.0 -
So this product will not spin at 1200 - ever?0

that`s like saying my car will do 150 but only down hill utter pointless statement.
But in reality, that's just about what most car adverts do.
It may state 150 mph and 40mpg, but to get to 150 mph you would need to drive it on a perfectly straight & level road probably a few miles long with no headwind or other traffic to disturb the airflow, and to get the quoted mpg during "real life" driving would be impossible.
All adverts, whether for a washing machine or car always give the best possible figures but fail to mention that these figures may not be obtainable all of the time.0 -
...that`s like saying my car will do 150 but only down hill utter pointless statement.
Quite a reasonable statement... think about the converse.
The sales blurb told you that it could spin at 1200, didn't it?
It can spin at 1200, can't it?
To use another analogy...
Car manufacturers often quote fuel economy figures.
OP, have you ever noticed that you have never been able to replicate those figures?0
