Most things are ready.and just need reheating,I did all the prep yesterday, just need to cook the sprouts fresh, and stuffing.Table is set and looking very nice.
DSons dont appear to have hangovers, although DS1 slipped when he was out last night on some steps and is sporting grazes and bruises all across his lower back, which looks very sore. All our pressies have been exchanged, very nice too.
We have had bacon butties, and a few Quality Street for brunch.
I hope you all have a lovely day.
Thinking about the sick, poor and lonely today and sending you a bucketful of hugs.xxxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Our water came back on today after having no water for the past 4 days due to frozen pipes. Spending today catching up on washing! Snow is a nightmare solution, I boiled a massive pot of it only to get a trickle of water.0

"Merry Christmas Everyone"
We got to the midnight service with DS & GF after collecting them from going around town. DS's GF didn't want to open pressies until after we had slept, so got to bed around 1.15am. I awoke at 8 am, and managed to make the bagels, which though not as uniform looking as the bought variety, were approved by DS & GF as better than bought!:A Not bad considering I took the recipe off the web, then put the ingredients in the BM to mix and rise last night, realised I had run out of time left them in the BM until this morning, then kneeded and shaped them, and then left them to rise again in the over on 40C, and then boiled and then cooked them. Strange twice now I have had to leave dough in the BM after the time, and it ended up twice as large as it was at their prescribed time, and rose again once making it into the shape.
Then went to see the GNeice and GNephews (two houses), DS & GF enjoying seing their cousins and their kids, so took a while, when we got home a neighbours kids had come home for Xmas with their new babies, so we have just popped round to se them after snacking on pork pie, etc. Now DS & GF just started to do dinner:D , I have been made redundant, so have time to drink coffee (had enough red wine for now) and get on here.
Got some lovely pressies, including the new rings from DH & smellies, etc. Think it is almost time to break out the chocies, have been good up to now.
Hope you are all having a nice day, ((hugs)) to those away from their loved ones, or are not too well.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Merry Christmas
It was bitterly cold here this morning. We walked to church. I must say I'm getting really fed up with this weather and having to put thick boots on everytime I go out although I keep telling myself that I'm lucky that I've got the boots-and the central heating to keep me warm in the house.
DD1 and SIL were here this morning but left after opening presents to go to his parents so we had our main Christmas meal last night. There was just us and DD2 at lunch so we had duck breasts followed by a small trfle then DH and I both fell asleep.
I got some nice presents including a hot water bottle and some of those slippers that come up to my knees.BIL gave us a hamper with lots of goodies-has anyone tried deep fried broad beans? MIL has given me a twin set-not sure if I feel old enough for twin sets yet but it looks warm.0 -
