Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 25th Dec. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Glad tidings to all.

Just put the 18lb turkey in the oven ready for the family Christmas dinner at 1pm ish. 10 here today, so looking forward to a day of feasting.
All presents wrapped and credit card given a deserved day off. I cannot believe that the supermarkets are open tomorrow!

-7 on the weather station with a heavy frost, so looking pretty white out there. No snow here to look at much, but its mighty cold for Cornwall.

Will need to get cracking on the veg at some point, light the log burner and open the Christmas tipple.

All my 3 girls slept in the same bed last night, I say girls (21, 16 , 15) Normally they are killing each other...... I know it won't last, but for one day a year it's quite astonishing

Well, hope you all have a great day...

Merry Christmas N9eav and everyone else who follows :D:D:santa2:
I've been awake since 4.30 am and will be making breakfast at 7.30. We are having a cooked breakfast - normally we have porridge but on Christmas day we like a treat :D

I've just made custard to go on the HM trifle. Just the two of us, so Christmas dinner is free range chicken, roasted with all the trimmings.

    Have a lovely day everyone.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Merry Christmas to you all. I am the only one up at the moment enjoying my cuppy. All our household has a flu type virus which is laying them low, so far I have only got a cough..... fingers crossed thats all I get. Better go and read what my timetable for today is ...... think the turkey is in the oven @ 7.30am.
Best wishes to you and yours from me and mine

Early morning Christmas wishes from me too.... taking a cup of coffee back to bed as it's cold and horrid outside.

So far this household has avoided any lurgy type nasties :j so Christmas dinner will go ahead.

Really looking forward to Dr Who though. :j

The kettles on for the first cuppa of the day, I'm normally on my 4th or 5th by now.
Hubby is still asleep & likely to remain so for a while yet.
The turkey, beef & ham are all cooked, sliced & in the fridge & freezer.
The mince pies are made & I shall make trifle on Monday when we have all the family round.
    Have a great day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Happy Christmas everyone! I've been awake since about half past five and am feeling extremely homesick (we are not spending Christmas with either of our families this year, unfortunately) so have done my usual trick when I'm homesick and thrown a loaf of soda bread in the oven to remind me of home :)

Hope you all have a lovely day. May your turkeys be moist and tasty and your children well-behaved :D
