I dont know if the op is true or just a great christmas story.... but this story is completely true.

We bought our house nearly two years ago, the couple we bought from were very odd, the man of the house really gave me the shivers and I wouldnt want to be alone with him.

Anyway, on the day of completion, we moved happily into the house which he had seemingly vacated a day or so before, all empty and cleaned, sadly our removal company wasnt coming until the next day.

So we polled up with camping matress, quilt, pillows, kettle, cups tea bags and a change of clothes and very little else - certainly no curtains.

Around early evening I was happily looking out at the lake from my bedroom window and I spotted him, in his bloody camper van parked not 30 yards from our drive - weird since he bought a house 15 miles away. But oh well I thought, perhaps it will take him a couple of days for his new house to be habitable (but why not park there? it has a big drive etc).

He lived in that camper van, 30 yards away for 6 weeks and returns in his camper van for christmas and extended summer holidays each year so far - weird.

you know the saying a dog is for life not just for Christmas.

However if you slice it thinly you can get boxing day out off it as well .

Sorry I didnt post again last night, as you will hear, the tale got worse.

Firstly, i mentioned Felix dog food, after making it to the shop, I relaised I needed pedigree chum.

    Anyways

During the last 5 mins of Pobol Y Cwm there was a knock at the door. Marching to the door ready to give the Clampetts a ticking off for our unofficial babysitting of the dog, I opened to door to the local Heddlu (Police).

Two officers came in and ask whether we knew Mr and Mrs Clampett. We said yes, and we asked whether they knew where they were as they had been missing all day

Anyway, without a fixed abode, the police had come to ascertain whether the people were residents so he could be bailed. I also had to go to Cardiff police station to pick her up.

It turns out from us roasting her last night (and she was very drunk and didnt realise her knickers had been dogged) that the Clampetts went to the pub yesterday at noon and remained there for a few hours after finding a garage open near Cardiff. The garage was supposed to be finishing work on the m/home for Wednesday, but they got a call on their mobile at 4pm to collect the van just as they were closing. Rather than just check into a hotel, they dicided otherwise and they dont have our tele number.

So stupidly they went to collect their motorhome and decided to drive back here, drunk to collect the dog and check into a hotel. They were just coming out of Cardiff when they were routinely stopped as part of the local drink drive campaign. He failed the test at the side of the road, she doesnt drive and therefore the m/home was seized.

He was finally sober for interview in the early hours this morning as the Heddlu has called and we are going down to pick him up in a bit. Mrs Clampett is hungover today and what really upsets me is they havent said THANK YOU for looking after the dog (which I had to walk first thing this morning). I have been asked to nip out and get some more because the cans of food are in the m/home. Grrr
