If people want to eat in a mickey D's on xmas day let them.

Ambulance staff, police on duty, plumbers on callout, fire service etc work over xmas. If they on a lunch break, then why can't they have what they want? They are not all going to bring in a packed lunch of Turkey and all the trimmings are they?

If there is a demand in certain places, they will open, it is common business ethics.

Some people on here get me wound up.

It's like people who say you cant eat meat on a good Friday. Someone show me the extract in the Bible, which says I can't?

It is generally assumed that staff who work in pubs, restaurants are getting at least double/ pay and big tips - And rightly so for working on what is traditionally a national holiday in respect of families. I wonder if those serving Big Macs today will be adequately rewarded?

I forgot to wish everyone a Merry Christmas - especially to all the moaning sods on this Praise and vent section !

i dont see a problem, for lots of reasons ie
-lots of people dont celebrate christmas
-people are glad for the extra income
-travellers, paramedics lorry drivers etc would be grateful for the use of toilets and a warm drink

much ado about nothing, is my opinion over the original post

McDonalds must have some right saddos working for them if they'd rather be spending Christmas flipping burgers for minimum wage instead of with friends and family getting drunk and being merry.

Im posting this from work. I volunteer to work christmas day ever year. I have no family and live on my own. I find christmas to be quite a depressing time and would rather be at work to take my mind off things and keep me busy chatting to customers etc. maybe next time think before you post?

I am also very pleased my local MacDonalds is open, its a lot more satisfying the the cup o'soup I was planning!

  • First time post here im more of a lurker lol :)

Well anyway, I actually work in Mcdonalds, one of the busiest in Hull and we have had lots of demands from customers to stay open on christmas day.

The store ended up voting not too as no one wanted to work lol.

So no it does not suprise me that some Mcdonalds are open

Makes business sense to open if they have willing customers passing tru dere doors!!

Also they can get on with other things during quieter times.
