    Merry Christmas all!

I see your point Chorlie, but it's not comparing like for like.

Say you wanted a minimum of 600 mins a month, then the only tesco sim only option is the £20 a month. Over 24 months the extra £15 a month for Vodafone would add up to £360, which is around £200 less than what you could resell a new iphone for on Amazon or Ebay.

So I think my deal is the best one for someone looking for substantial minutes, >600, and someone who uses 3g out and about but home wi-fi for larger downloads... someone like like me!

    Bring on the goose.

I kind of see your put with Tesco, but T-Mobile are doing (or were a few days back) for a 12 month £10 contract with 600mins, 500 text and a free booster (so either data, unlimited text, unlimited landline calls etc) so same amount of mins plus can tailor it to fit your own needs (be you a texter, data or talker).

And a few week back they did a deal for 12 month £7.50 with:

    600mins
    500text
3GB Data (no charge for going over, just reduced speed)
A free booster (text, landlines, Tmob-Tmob etc)

So if they did that deal again, it beats any other I've seen. Also once the 12monthsis up you call them to see if they will match / beat it or you're free to move networks, no 24 month contract.

It really boils down to if you want an upfront cost or not and if you're happy being tied to a very long 2year contract.

Oops sorry - forgot to mention that in my excitement. £35 a month (no phone charge) for 24 months.

Seems crazy that they'd be able to offer a dealthat much better than the regular one. I tried to see if o2 would match it before cancelling my current contract but they said no chance.

Still in two minds about whether to take it now or just pay off my last month on o2 and grab it now...

Maybe it's a generational thing, but can't quite get to grips with how a commitment of £840 for 2 years for a new toy that will be old hat in 9 months - if it lasts that long - and the facility to contact your mates can be considered "an amazing deal".

Bet you thought the contract you are now wanting to cancel early was brilliant at the time too.

But, hey, we all can't be the same. Merry Christmas

Ah! That actually is a better deal - £7.50 a month. But when I looked on the T-Mobile website earlier today, it was £15 a month... Thanks for the tip though - I'll check their site again before I buy a new deal.

Tbh, right now going for an iphone 4 deal, the best thing to do is (if you're happy with your current phone), sell it for £550 on Amazon and buy the iphone 5 when it comes out in June/July. The great thing about iphones is they seem to retain value well - my 18 month old 3gs would still fetch £230 on ebay. Nice :)

Very true, I've got a 3GS and I'm waiting for the iPhone 5, that's why I moved to the £7.50 T-Mobile deal it's got way more than I need but was by the far the cheapest deal, so moved.

The T-Mobile deal was / is only direct from T-Mobile and only via the phone (not online or in store).

It's very hard to compare like for like with mobile phone deals, they all seem to differ in some slight way or another, all you can do if find a deal that meets your needs and you're comfortable with the costs and length of the contract, then go for it and only look at other deals when your current one is about to end....:o

    Merry Christmas
