Argh.....I knew it was on an advert recently but I couldn't remember which one, damn Sainsburys! I think it would be our first dance song too if it happens, !!!!!! the advert :rotfl:. Are you all sorted with dates and venues now hun?

No don't listen to them! Life isn't a race anyway, and whether you get married within a year of knowing each other or 50 years later, it doesn't matter, you don't get a prize for getting there first and at least you know you are meant to be together xx

I will try and give you the short version! It was a friday night and I was sitting at the PC (probably browsing something to do with the Maldives I expect) in my slobby clothes and OH came and knelt down beside me...nothing out of the ordinary, he does it when he wants a bit of attention, he tells me he loves me and asks me if I still want to be his wife! I said something along the lines of yes I definately still do but only if it is what you want, he replied that it is what he wants very much.....then me, being the total muppet that I am gives him no chance to say anything else because I say (and I quote) 'you don't actually have to propose, I just needed to know that you did still want to marry me, that's good enough' :o! It kinds came out wrong, I meant what I said but in hindsight it was almost like I was telling him not to propose, what a spoon I am! I should have said about effing time, now lets go get me a ring :rotfl: and I think he would have agreed! I think it was just really unexpected and I faffed a bit. Ah well......work mate thought it was hilarious!

I know you are right hun but it sometimes doesn't stop that 'why not me' feeling! I am sure it's on the cards at some point soon...well it better be because if he hasn't at least made it VERY clear by my 30th in March next year then one of us is moving out! Sounds harsh, I'm not saying we will split up but I'll only 'play' wife for so long before I get fed up, if he wants us to live together as a married couple would then we will have to get married, ooh I am such an evil mare

Only 3 days to go! Had haircut tonight and started looking through more pictures which made me more excited. Got all the important work stuff done today so boss has agreed I can leave early tomorrow :j, going to visit the bank and pay in £98 worth of change (it weighs a tonne!) and then go and see my offspring before I leave. Might start packing when I get home too.

    Friday tomorrow!!!

:rotfl::rotfl:Oh dear! A bit like my OH's messed up attempt in Zimbabwe! It would be nice if it's in the Maldives rather than at home though I reckon, so it will be worth waiting to see what happens :)

My friend is on the verge of going and buying her own ring at the moment, especially as she's found a lovely vintage one that fits perfectly. She doesn't want it to be gone by the time her OH gets round to proposing! :D

Exactly. Yesterday I went to my Mums wedding. She has been with her partner for 18 years (or something like that)! It's never too late :)

  • Hi Jody,

Sorry I've not been about in a while...felt a little out of place since I'm not a debt buster anymore :o

Hope you have a fab holiday and I really hope that your OH proposes, a couple of my friends have asked if I think OH will pop the question when we go to Turkey. I would love that, but now I keep thinking about it and can really understand that feeling of not wanting to be disappointed as that's all I keep thinking of!

This is probably going to be my last update before heading off tomorrow, hopefully by the time you are all getting into work on Monday we will be at or about to arrive at the island :j. I forgot how stressful packing is! Pretty much all done now, just a last few bits to go in tomorrow morning, just waiting for my work mate to drop his camera over for me to borrow then I am going for lunch with my mum in town before coming back to do nails etc.

Unfortunately it looks like they have a large weather front passing over at the moment and a lot of islands are reporting quite a bit of rain, hopefully we will only catch the tail end of it, the forecast for the 4 days after are showing good weather so have my fingers crossed.

I've been told that the wifi is usable so I will try and post some pics on FB from my phone so they wont be the best quality but it will give you an idea .

Will catch up with you all when I get back x
