As cornish says, you get 50p and double rates for books, they just don't count on the 5 for £7 bonus. I didn't realise that until after I emailed them. Oh well.0 -

Bit of a problem, any help and advice please
Basically Miss Hoodie has been skirting the subject of Santa, comes home tonight, hes not real is he, I know he isn't, trying to avoid the subjecy, she wouldn't give up, I'll be honest in our heart of hearts we knew the truth, but we had to come clean, shes gone to bed in a foul mood, what we are ain't worth knowing, u get the picture, one of the issues since all this court saga is her anger, shes under mental health team, for support with whats shes going throu, but thats at a standstill, ngtmare, I guess its her only way of coping with it all, if anyone has any suggestions how to smooth the santa saga, be ova the moon. x
We not have 1 VW suitcase, then got in the mood to do some mince pies, a few turned into over 100! xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Mum2one, I feel for you, some kids react badly as it feels like such a big lie and betrayal. It's a tough one but I think if it were me I would explain that Santa represents the spirit of Christmas, technically he did exist once as St Nicholas of Myra (in Christian faith) but later came to represent dutch belief (also known as Sinterklaas) a good saint that selflessly gave gifts to the poor, he had lists of the children who had been well behaved and put nuts, gifts and chocolate letters. There is truth in the tradition of Santa, but it is a long livd tradition that carries on after he passed for many generations to keep the spirit of Christmas alive. I think I was 5 or 6 when I found out and I wasn't overly upset as I never understood how a guy delivering presents fitted in. Christmas still was (is!) magical as it's a time to bring loved ones together and celebrate the end of a year, and have lots of fun. I hope Miss Hoodie feels better soon, it must be a very confusing time for her xx
Morning all, no real money making happening, I have been too exhausted to tell the truthSupposed to be making Nicky's christmas chutney today, forgot the aubergine! so that may not happen after all
On the bright side though I have the ingredients for mince pies so will be making lots of those, if i can figure out what i am doing lol.
Hope everyone is well and money making xxComping wishlist for 2017

Morning everyone
Savvy - I didn't use aubergines in my last batch of the Christmas chutney and it turned out fine, so if you want to you could still go for it.
Mum2one - Oh dear, it must be such a difficult time for you and Miss Hoodie. I like what Savvy put about explaining all the tradition behind it and I'd also try to explain that whilst it is a fib, it is done with good intentions and to help Christmas be a magical time for children. Would it help her to know that this is something all children get told and have to find out the truth about, so she maybe wouldn't feel like it was just something you did? You could maybe have a talk (when she's ready) about how most lies are bad but sometimes it's okay to lie, for example a white lie to protect someone's feelings e.g. if they bought you a present you hated you would lie and say you loved it.
I hope you manage to sort it out soon.
I checked Chow this morning and I am now a green dot, woohoo. I have earnings of 27p but I'm not sure what that's for as it was before I put my toy review on. I've added one toy review and done a fair bit of rating. Do you think it would be best to wait until tomorrow to add another review or would later this evening be okay?Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Afternoon everyone.
Done a big food shop today and got a few extra presents in with it, so slowly getting to nearly done. Just a couple more bits to order online, which I best do pretty soon, and get on with the cards and stuff like that.
I didn't answer the Miss Hoodie thing earlier, all I could think was yes, it is a lie, but all parents do it with good intention to help to make it magical. She sounds bitterly disappointed.
C for me went up another £3.25 for me yesterday. I am nearly at £10 already on it. I need to spend a bit of time making sure I add all the things that need adding, as i reckon the longer we leave it, the less likely it will get added. I want to do it before the staff are all off at christmas rather than miss out. We can always have a break in January and just collect rates for reviews that didn't get many, rather than miss out when the 50ps are coming.0 -
Mum2one I really feel for you, lucky for me neither of mine are questioning it yet, and I can't really remember how I found out when I was a kid but I know I kept the magic alive for my brother and sister. It must be hard for miss hoody too, I agree with Savvy about keeping it magical - perhaps put on Polar Express or something similar? I appreciate she is finding it hard and all the changes are coming for her at once. She will come round, you know she will. Chin up!
No money making for me today, although I had a refund for an item bought on ebay that never arrived - does that count?
Q paid out in the last couple of days, and then as soon as it had paid out the amount for next time really jumped up too! Also had a few ebay sales that finished yesterday so the pot is starting to fill up again.
Managed to pick up another present yesterday whilst in town - took the kids to see Arthur Christmas which was fab!
Tree went up last night too, so really starting to get in the spirit!
I wasn't going to make a cake this year, but have sort of changed my mind - is it too late?Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j
