Pablos - Just work out the value - Tolun@ is 80,000 for £15 so £1 is 5,333 points, Ips is 1,380 for £10 so works out a 138 points is £1, Mys is 790 points is £5 so £1 is worth 158 points etc......

  • **wave** I've not been on MSE for a while and have a name change - (was Freecycle but after 6 years of using it it had to be changed)....anyhows....does anyone make their own hampers & pamper things for Christmas?? Last time I did it I managed to get 500gsm towel bales for under £10, but now can't anything near that price range (need to be resellable prices)....any ideas? I can buy low quality for around £4 a towel...I prefer the higher gsm tho.

Hi Tightwadways - the only place I can think of is Dunlem Mill but I dont know if that is national or a northern outlet. I have only been twice but they had some nice things at good prices and I think they have a website. Good luck with them
Aiming to make £7,500 online in 2022
  • I dunno about thread count, but I've seen towels cheaply in asda, primark, perhaps wilkinsons might also have some. I've seen bedding and household stuff in there before.

There's also the Range that does towels cheaply TIGHTWADWAYS. It's only just opened by me, so not sure about threadcounts either. Also on Grabbit there's an offer for Storetwentyone. Buy one get one half price, plus a voucher code for £5 off. You should be able to get some good ones much cheaper with that offer. :)

    How's things going Michelle?

  • Not bad Elysia.

I'm up to about £5 in my cha account. Won some bingo on the site we don't name. About to turn pooter off though to get some stuff done and get in bed before school tomorrow. Entered chow comp, and 1 travel one today, and had an old one to copy to DY so all ticking along nicely.

Hope you've had a good day hon.

    Night. xx

This challenge is a bit of a mixed bag – there’s something here for oldies and newbies alike.

    Money Saving

    1. Winter is most definitely on its way – check your electric/gas supplier and what tariff you are on, and if you haven’t switched for a while – compare and switch to the best deal, and get a fixed deal if you can, before the prices hike up for winter. Don’t forget to go through Quidco or TCB to make the highest savings.

    2. It’s starting to get colder – but don’t just bung the washing in the tumble drier, make sure you use your washing line for as long as you can.

    You've met my dad then!!

    3. As suggested by Savvy – Down grade one level in your weekly/monthly shopping and make savings where you can. If you usually have finest, switching to value isn’t going to work, but it you have a brand, try T’s own, or if you usually have T’s own, try value. You may find you like something J

we've done with quite a few items, don't really the difference with a lot of the items, but theres still more cuts to be made!

    Money making

    1. Ebay - Have a sort out, as now is the time to be starting to list winter clothes and toys. If you aim for them to finish around the end on the month (payday) you’ll see better returns. You can get sorting and photographing now though, but if you're really inspired its free listing again this weekend. :)
Carrier bag of my clothes ready to go on, Miss Hoodies grown out of swimwear, but I save that for Feb, sounds daft but goes better then.

    2. Set yourself a challenge – I know this worked with most of us last month – we set ourselves challenges, and in the main, we all completed them. Set yourself a challenge – write it down, stick it to the fridge/computer, somewhere visible, and do it!!! Suggestions include – write an opinion on T everyday this month, complete every survey going, and not fishing for the good ones, four reviews a week.

My challenge is everyone payable on toluna, and newvista...

2nd challenge - get 4weeks ahead OU course, technically starts Oct,

    3. Go out looking for money making opportunities and not wait for them to come to you.

    4. Do you have a talent you could use? There are lots of new sites springing up where you do small jobs for £5. On most of them, the site takes £1 as commission but you can still earn £4 for not a lot. – There are smobs.co.uk (short for small jobs), fivesquid.co.uk (this is the best UK one), and fiverr.com (US). They all work on the same premise – you do a small job and you earn £5 (or $5). Offer to proof read kids homework, write a personalised poem, make a card, hem up trousers, sew in kids name labels for their uniforms, compile professional looking CV’s for people, design a logo, edit something for Youtube – the list is endless. Have a think and see what you can come up with.
Thats brilliant suggestion, I palm read... but don't know which come under!!

As ever, use this like a pick and mix – sort out what you can easily achieve. We want you to stick at it, and not give in after a week. Do what you can, but remember Christmas is around the corner now, and we really need to push this month and next, so we have lots of money to treat our families with, and make Christmas magical. J

Thank you for another brilliant set of challenges.xx

Morning all! Weather has been a nightmare here raining all night and wind like a hurricane! DS came into our bed at some point saying "noisy rain" I didnt think anything of it till about 5.30 and went in his bedroom to find his window half open and rain coming in! Looked into the garden and 'OMG!' Had to get up and have been out in it as our garden furniutre was blowing around the garden! Table upside down and chairs rolling and the umbrella on the floor flapping! Its only plastic stuff so I had to sort it as didnt want it blowing over the fence and hitting cars! Quite worried about his trampoline also so will have to buy pegs today to peg it down! Therefore I am wet and cold and sitting here as not to go back to bed and wake my boys!

September, well done, once you get into the swing of things I'm sure you'll be able to get 2.50 a day!
Claire, ((hugs)) I know how hard family can be sometimes, just keep focusing on them boys of yours x
Elysia - It didn't pay to get organised early then lol, bet her hair is looking lovely, mine is well overdue a restyle!

I've had a crap day. DD managed to find the permenant marker I use for writing on CD's and whilst I was pegging in the washing managed to draw all over the kitchen floor, some of the lounge carpet, her dolly and her tea set. Annoyed to say the least! So I've been on my hands and knees scrubbing all afternoon. The whole house stinks of bleach, I stink of bleach, roll on her bedtime and having a longggggg soak in the bath!

No money making here yet today, got some waiting in my inbox. Quick question... does anyone know how long Ipsos normally take for Amazon vouchers? Managed my first redeem a few week ago :D

I am waiting for two Amazon vouchers from Ipsos, the first one is from the beginning of JUne, other one was from last month. I thought in the past they were quite quick coming.
Hiya, what is the tv survey thing?
Its a panel I belong to where they ask you about tv shows you have watched, like I said you dont get anything for it most weeks, just entered into a prize draw and I have never won in over three years. You might get a £5 voucher for something special once or twice a year. Next time they send me a survey I will have a look and see if they have a link for referrals.
