  • I sympathise Claire. I was up far too late then they were both up at just before 7:30. I am shattered. I think they aregue a bit less as they get older, or my two do. We actually just hid our head under the pillows till about 8:30. I am going to find it very hard today.

Good idea Rufus to have your review count at the top of your post. I'm glad you are joining in. I think the habit of writing pretty much every day really focusses your mind to it and gets you writing better.

Saying that, a lot of my Friday night ones with a glass of wine or two are the ones that end up being crowned.

Balance at DY is £48.60, and at C I'm at £3.55 already, so hoping it might be a great month this month.

Nicky - you mum's wonderful knitting all those scarves and puppets. I should think you need some volunteers too this year. I should rope in a collegue or two too. It'll be all go for you - Have you decided when your mat leave is - would it be Oct half term? Sorry for being nosy - I'm so excited for you - that's only 6/7 weeks away - it's come around so quickly. :D

Pink - I can't understand what you mean by the reviews. I have days that I don't want to write or read any more reviews, and I've only just started again. I think it'f from reading on the computer all day - and them to wind down, I go read a book. Agghhhh. LOL. You've got a good list of challenges there. You'll be fine. You'll get a few more redeems by Christmas, I know you can.

Michelle - that site looks good. I look forward to seeing how you get on. You'll have to get off the computer earlier Mrs, I was still up, but off the comp by 8.30 last night which is extremely early for me.

Claire - I hope your day gets better. The only way is up as they say. :) Grit your teeth and smile :D. Well done on your first review.

Rufus - How's DD today? Well done on your review too. None of my product suggestions added yet, so I think I'll get writing them over the weekend, ready to post when they do. I've not been on DoU or Ciao for days - I'd best catch up with some rating too. ;) I have over £30 in my account but I just redeemed for £25 Am, If I'm down to the minimum, it's hard to get motivated again, but as I'm over £6 to the next one, it's not so far away. ;) Cheating a bit I know :)

Willow - 40 reviews is easy - its just over two a week I think. Extremely manageable and not too time consuming - you can easily earn £50 from 40 reviews, if you put the effort in. Just think what £50 can buy. :)

Talking of DoU. Coffee machine reviews are level one but you can get double points for first reviews this week.

Double Your dooyooMiles! This Week... Coffee Machine

Knowing there’s a freshly brewed coffee waiting for you can be huge motivating factor when trying to get yourself up and at ‘em in the morning, and any coffee drinker will tell you it’s just not the same if you’re dipping a teaspoon into a jar and stirring it into a cup of water – beans are essential!

Fun fact of the day: did you know that coffee beans are actually the seed from a red coffee berry? Check it out; nifty huh!?

For the next week we’ve decided to offer double dooyooMiles for all first reviews in the Coffee Machine category. Whatever you want to call it; cup of Joe, black gold, muddy water, battery acid, or just plain old coffee, we want to hear all about the machine that you use to create your version of one of the world’s most highly traded commodities.

Please remember to drop us a dooyooMail with the details after you’ve written your review, otherwise you may not get your well-deserved dooyooMiles. Have a great weekend!

I hope everyone has a good day today - I'm off out to do an Myst3ry shop later, and I have a list as long as my arm of other things I must do. Best get on then, see you all later :)

Savvy - Here's something about the touchpad (my dad emailed it me, as he knows I'm still after one). I thought I'd post it here for you - it's about some free apps. ;)

I'm trying to work right up to the end of the Christmas term, so I would finish on 16th December, due on 27th December! I finished at 36 weeks with my son, but then he was 2 weeks overdue so I ended up with only 4 1/2 months at home with him before I went back to work. I only take 6 months maternity leave as I'm the main wage earner and I think we'd struggle if I took more. Hopefully, by working as long as possible, I'll get more time at home with the baby. DH will look after the kiddies again during the day when I go back to work and then he works in the evenings and weekends. It's worked well for us like that as it means one of us is always there for them :D.
In theory we have it all sorted, but who knows what might happen, this little one might decide to be early!
    Making money for Christmas 2012!
  • Morning everyone

Trying to get into the swing of things this month but keep getting pulled in all directions, more money saving than money making. Received part of hubby's christmas present today and I think he will be rather chuffed. That's two big purchases already made, and plenty of vouchers to cover the rest. I could never have done it without you all spurring me on. I'm going to keep going and put any extra I make towards new furnishings and white goods for when we move house :D

Thanks for the the info on the app pack, hubby will love it especially the angry birds, he hasn't played it before but I know it's addictive lol.

Went to sleep around 1am got up at some ungodly hour too so I feel your pain ladies, even worse I have given up coffee and replaced with water. I miss it so much but it must be doing me the world of good.

I'm with you on the reviews Pink, after doing all my uni work I just don't fancy writing reviews, I like tasks that require little to no effort so I can do them whilst I am relaxing or when I have a free moment when I'm looking after dd. My uni work or family time would suffer if I tried to fit it all in. I think I have October off though so maybe I will try reviewing then. I have had one cheque from DY when I stared before.

  • Hello ladies, sorry I've just disappeared. I had a break was getting stressed over last months review challenge, then DD's grandparent's from sperm donors side of the family came down to visit for a few days (total nightmare), and I just haven't known whether I've been coming or going! I totally forgot about coming up with Septembers challenge too, sorry :(

Rufus - I hope DD is ok, what an awful ordeal!
Legend - So sorry to hear about your dog :(
Well done on last months totals, hope everyone is okay

    Challenge:
    1. Already got lots saved on my electric meter so will stick at putting extra money on each fortnight
    2. Never use the tumble dryer anyway, my house has clothes drying everywhere in the bad weather!
    3. Don't think there is any brands lower than value damnit, but I am going to try and meal plan.

    Moneymaking
    1. Sorted out mine and DD's old clothes the other day, in the process of washing them because theyve been in storage for so long, then I'll defo list them at some point.
    2. 15 reviews this month. 60 before christmas.
3./4. Not sure about this one yet.

I'm not going to fall off the bandwagon and disappear again, just going to take things slowly and not get worked up if I fall behind!

  • Cornish. sorry to hear it got you stressed. It's not meant to is it, so well done for taking a bit of a break, and don't worry about not coming up with a challenge as we have plenty we are all getting on with.

I've been on a bit of a shopping spree. £100 in primark as they are selling off summer stuff cheaply, so I went and kitted the kids out in next years sizes as much as I could, and got myself some new bras. It's been a while, so they were nearly as dear as the stuff I got the kids.

Then September is my mega birthday month, so I got a birthday present for my sister and MIL, and some cash out to give my bro as it is his 21st a week on Monday. I picked up a christmas pressie too as I saw it while we were out and about.

Then we did costco and spent £100 there too, so I am going to have a good sort out and write down all i got, and then cook off some stuff for the freezer so we use it before it goes off.

I'm pretty sure we spent £300 today. Soon goes doesn't it when you start. Must start getting some more ipsos vouchers in.

The woman behind the till was fab at boots. I'd spent £50, and she said to me there was a voucher in the machine, so she took my boots card to the machine, printed the voucher and then used it to get me an extra £2.50 of points. What fab customer service.

Best get all these new clothes sorted and away, and then think about what I am going to do with some of the older stuff.

Weekends end up being quite productive here.

Good afternoon all, I've been awol for a week or so.
We have had quite a traumatic week, so I can feel for you Rufus
We had gone to bed on Monday night, and were woken at 11 by a massive banging noise - someone had thrown a boulder through our front door, took the keys and were in the process of taking OH car. By the time I got downstairs (having checked on the kids first) they were in the car and starting to drive off. My nerves are shot, I am not sleeping, very emotional and feel like I'm having panic and anxiety attacks. I don't really want medication, and am determined not to let it beat me, but it is so hard. I am trying to be strong for the kids, but its so hard. We don't feel safe in our house anymore and I can tell you, I have never been so scared in my entire life.

Have spent most of the week on the phone to the insurance, having had to have locks changed etc. These bast***s don't think about the consequences on your life. Selfish gits - they got what they wanted and were probably tucked in up bed within an hour, whereas I have probably had less that 8 hours sleep since.
Money making has gone to pot - we have had to spent a shedload on getting the locks changed, (I know we'll get some of this back but still) Things were just starting to work out for us, and then something like this has happened. I am back at work on Monday, and am dreading leaving the house empty.
We are trying to be as normal as we can for the kids, but its not easy!
On a MSE note, we made £97.97 last month - works out at £3.16 per day, so will be doing the £2.50 challenge again when I can get myself sorted. I will also be doing the £1 a day challenge til Christmas. Will look at this month's challenge later x

Well it must have been one of those nights as I was awake at 4 and got up with OH at 5 when he got up for work. I too am shattered lol. I had loads of house work to do and have only just had my lunch.

Savvy - I gave up coffee a few years ago, I havent drunk it ever since, or tea. I cant remember now why I did it but I had bad headaches for about two weeks which the doctor said was caffeine withdrawal. I gave up alcohol at the same time and now all I ever drink is water, tonic water or hot chocolate and sometimes the occasional grapefruit juice.

Elysia - YD is a bit better today, she was still a bit scared last night but my son hes a police officer) rang today and put her at ease. He said the bloke who did it has been put on remand until the court case whenever that will be and wont be allowed out.

Michelle - I am waiting for Amazon vouchers from Ips0s, I have two outstanding, one from beginning of June.

Off to do a bit more rating xx
