    Bless Neworld, thats lovely xx
  • I was wondering what people's strategies are for claiming vouchers and cash.

YouGov and New Vista are great because you just get a big cheque, but there are others like MySurvey where you get a choice of a big list of potential vouchers and maybe a paypal payment.

Do you tend to claim as soon as something is available to you? I guess this is safe in case the company goes bust.

How do you decide what vouchers to take? I've not really thought through gifts yet so I don't want to get too many vouchers for one shop and them limit my choice at gift time. I guess the best idea is to vary what I claim so I have more choice?

Do you think cash is king, and if it is available then I should take it, or is it better to have vouchers?

I know there will be no 'answer' to this but I'd like to hear your strategies so I can decide a way of working! I want to get the best value! :p

I usually get Amazon vouchers Pink as I use them to buy dvds and things for my OH as he is always the most expensive for me to buy for. He likes dvds best as his presents so really suits me fine. But if I had got all his presents and didnt really need so may vouchers I would then opt for cash if they do it.

The main ones are usually all available at around £10 worth.I use to just get amazon.I am now headed towards half amazon and half love2shop.This way I wont waste it all if I dip in to amazon .Which I am awful for doing. Also to spend my love2shop I will have to get off my bum and go down town.Which I hate doing .So will at least think hard before going to use them.

My 8 year old son has just discovered that santa is not real and that i buy all the presents. He has taken it so well and he even said i am the best mum in the whole world for buying and wrapping the presents and he thanked me for telling him the truth. He has his moments. I have always imagined that there would be tears when he found out. i have also told him not to spoil it for others who still believe but he has no brothers or sisters so wont worry much. I gave him some chocolate as a treat for being so understanding. Looks like my bill for this christmas will be smaller. Sorry to rumble. Anyway how is everyone doing with this months challenge.

Bless him newworld, mine found out in a similar way, asking why I was going shopping if santa was bring presents, catching me taking about what I bought etc, they are too smart lol
