Thanks michelle, dd has loads of the plastic play food which she adores already, she does enjoy the ones that you cut up, not so keen on the cans. They do say from age 3+ but I guess you might be right, dd may find it too babyish think I will hold off.

I just think they are expensive there for what they are. Everything in the Drs kit is soft and doesn't stand up by itself, so there is a little pot you are supposed to use as ointment, or to dip your syringe in, and it just fails a bit really. IT's a lot of money to not get played with. I did notice some of the sets were cheaper on amazon if you had any vouchers. I don't know if that might be better if she didn't play with it, you might not see it as such a waste. The only advantage to our set is it doesn't hurt when the boys are injecting me or trying to hear my heart. :rotfl:

I was looking at the stuff they were selling, thinking though it is nice i bet you could make some of it. I noticed on another site they had 2 gingerbread men, and they were only felt. I might try making some nearer to christmas. We have loads of felt and DH shoved it in the loft. I wouldn't need to spend much to do it.

Veg growing is doing well - i did put a lot of time into starting it off, and DH has continued it really. He's just brought in a good punnet of strawberries. We have them in flower buckets everywhere.

Savvybunny my son has the melissa and doug wooden food and he loves it. It is well worth the extra money.

    I would highly recommend it.

Quick warning - I just wrote a DY review and the site is having problems and it is not visible.

I wrote it straight in there so haven't got a copy of it. Pants!

Don't write there while it is broken or you will lose the work. I'll go on facebook and post there.

Ladies, can I rack your brains, bit of a dilemia,

As you know we're in contact with grandparents and Miss hoodies Uncle and Aunt, (he is 100% different to his lordship!), they sent an email, and have asked for ideas what to get Miss Hoodie for her bday (not till Sept),

What has thrown me, is budget, they haven't given me an idea, and I think as its so new for both of us, theres no easy way to ask while how much do you want to go to, coz don't want to put them on spot.

Hopefully, (mums suggestion) we usually go halves on something if its bigger item, as last yr she had her laptop, this yr, we're planning on spending max of £200 on a netbook, thats us taken care off (sounds selfish).

I was thinking of getting Miss hoodie to look Amazon and look at wii games, ds games, books, cds, dvds, - as that would give them a choice, and also a wide range of prices.

Think grandparents are going to get her some clothes, but they get bigger sizes, yes they are nice, (posh shops) and charm for her pandora bracelet.

If anyone could think of ideas, or what you think re Amazon idea, would be brilliant.

Jewellery - she has some really nice pieces, the only thing she has asked for is another signet ring, - her 1st two are too small, but that be from Bailey.

Got laptop, camera, camcorder, phone, mp3 player, dsi xl, doesn't really collect anything, thou she'd have a dolphin if she could!!
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I think that the amazon idea is a good one. Is it there you can create the wish list, or favourites? You could get her to do that and then tell them that it is what is given to everyone rather than just them and that way they don't feel that they should buy the most expensive. It is lovely to hear that they are thinking of it already though, shows that she is in their thoughts.

I was about to type exactly the same thing! I agree, if Miss Hoodie creates an Amazon wishlist, then you can send it to them saying it's for all family to pick from. If there is a variety of price range items on there it shows no expectation of them, especially if they think the list has been created for lots of people to choose from.

I also think it is a great idea to have the amazon list. I tend to compile a list for my two myself as I see stuff as people will always ask me nearer the time and it is better than going i don't know and then them picking.

That way they can buy as much or little as they want.

Tell them she has made it herself, and she sounds sensible so I can't see her putting loads of mega expensive things on.

DY update the problem seems to be fixed. I'm fed up now though, as i have 20 reads and no rates on the review i have redone this morning.

On the brightside - i have had 15 E ratings already this month on Chow.

Like everyone else has said mum2one an amazon wish list. I used one last year for the boys christmas presents and it worked well.

Thanks for the up date on dy michelle. Waiting for a few suggestions to come through on there as I am struggling to write about something. I just have been so busy with the house this last week I haven't had much time to sit and write. Well done on all the E's on C.

Hope you have a nice day giggles in Blackpool.

Morning all, what a lovely sunny day again :)

Mum2one - I agree with the amazon list, it's always a bit awkward to discuss price limits etc but the this way they can choose something your dd would love and they can choose how much to spend. I hadn't thought about the amazon lists much but I think we may use them this year too.

Going to rise to the ebay challenge and get listing later, don't forget to submit receipts and barcodes today if you do shopnscn.
