Challenge 7 – July 2011 (that is so scary)
1. EBay challenge – I know most of us have been making the most of the free listing days recently, but this hasn't been a challenge for six months, and this is just another push to clear out those cupboards, before the kids break up for the summer, and you’ll have your hands full.
2. Swagbucks – join it if you’re not on it and use it every day. You should be easily be able to redeem every month (paypal or amazon voucher) and over the year, it’ll make quite a nice sum. Michelle has written a lovely guide to using it here. Thanks Michelle. If we all post the codes we get, it will bump us up further.
3. Referals - Refer as many people as you can to join via your links. Funky Pigeon is £3 per referral, Living Social is if three people sign up via your link – you get your deal free. Toluna is points, some survey sites, even offer a percentage of the other persons earnings. Get your referral links posted, and earn some money the easy way
4. Member challenge - From next month we are going to have one challenge from a member of this thread. That way we all can get more input and involvement in the challenges. I’ll pick the first person today, and then next month they can choose someone else.
Michelle – Could you please be the first one to come up with a challenge for all of us? Don’t worry, you have a whole month to think of one.. It won't need to be posted until next month challenge.;) It could be something that you’re struggling with, or the group as a whole.

The £2.50 a day thing was a great success, and if any of you wish to carry it on, please do.
I would like to say how proud I am of each and every one of you. June's totals are absolutely fabulous, and it shows just what we all can acheive if we set our minds to it (another shop.com promotion would be most helpful too. :rotfl:).I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Those of you not finding the sponsored polls on T. I was having trouble finding them as well couple of weeks ago but think that they have changed the site. If you click on HOME then look on the right hand side, just under your dashboard, it says sponsored polls in a light grey and if there are any you will see either one or two polls there, sometimes has a little house next to it or a tie or something to show what kind of poll it is. Click on this and it will give you the poll, just do the poll and more than likely it will say you have quailified for a survey so click on the survey link and it will open a new tab or window (does on mine anyway) then if you dont qualify it will give you the link to go back to the home page and start again. I always close the old window and just keep going like this until there are no polls left on the home page.
Sometimes you might need to refresh the page to get new ones up, just keep doing it, you will see when there are none left.
If you are still stuck let me know xx0 -
Sorry about this post = I kept forgetting who I was answering to, so I’ve written it in Word as I’ve read it.
Thanks Michelle for the info on Ciao – I’m sure I have some home and garden reviews knocking about somewhere. 50p a review is great. J
Legend – thanks for the heads up about the Disney dvd’s. They would make great stocking fillers for my nieces.
Pink – well done on getting your review posted. I think I’ll have to give myself a challenge of writing one a week too. I’ve not written one for about 6-8 weeks – still getting points for it though, so it’s not all bad. J
Susan – you are banned from the ebay challenge – if you sell anything else, you’ll have nothing left.Well done on DS’s costume – I bet you had great fun doing that, and it goes to show, no matter how old they get, they still need their mum when it comes to making costumes. It was book week when DD1 was at school, she got best costume too. She went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. She had red glittery shoes, Yorkshire terrier stuffed toy in a wicker shopping basket and everything. I had handmade the dress so I was so proud. J
Michelle – I got screened out of all the viva ones too – I got halfway on two of them. Grrr
Thanks bunbun for the free chocs link – by the time I came on they’d all gone. L
Savvy – ebay challenge sounds perfect for you. Get listing those clothes, because I have found in the past, things that say used once, often go for more than things with tags, because people expect them to go high, and don’t bother bidding. Odd but true.
Piglet – welcome back hun. Wow, you’ve done so well with the jewellery making – have you thought about an etsy/folksy shop? I’m going to do one, when I get enough stock together. I’ve been so busy this month, I haven’t had time to do an awful lot, but will get stuck in now things are settling down. Rufus is the one to talk to if you need help and advice.
Kec – hiya honey. Glad to see you posting more regularly again. Don’t worry about it – you’ll get there, you’re just taking the scenic route. J
Knit – what a nightmare. I don’t know what to say. I’m shocked I though paypal was the safest ever. I hope you get it sorted, and thanks for the warning – I’ll keep an eye out.
Michelle – re the chow promotion, 2 reviews a day is hardly churning. I say go for it.
Claire – Ohh I love decorating. I bet it looks lovely now. Have a lovely weekend hun.
Rufus – thanks for the info on T. I’m going to have to add that to the first post for any newbies. How are you today? Any plans for the weekend?
Thanks to everyone. I had a bad headache yesterday, which went during the day. I felt ok for DD2 to have her friend over after school – and with the screeching and yelling from the pair of them, by the time she left, I had a migraine. I couldn't stand up in the end, and I was in bed by 8. What a raver I am – I used to go to bed at 8 in the morning. I must be getting old. Morning guys.
Elysia - thanks for the new challenges, I am going to get my thinking cap on for next month then. Nothing is immediately springing out at me.
My head is firmly reviewing this month like i said. I am going to keep looking through the categories on ciao mentioned, and there are loads of things we can review, and i am just going to go for it. At least until the school hols start and then that might throw me a bit. It really does look like the only limit is our time and patience, and not wanting to churn too badly. My balance went up £1.20 overnight.
It's meant to be lovely here today so i want to spend some time in the garden too. It is getting a bit weedy, and i was super excited yesterday as one of my courgette plants finally has one courgette on it. Only about an inch long and not much thicker than a pencil, but from past experience that is how it starts. They then grow very quickly.

Blimey Michelle = you'll have to keep an eye one them, next week it'll be a marrow. I know I've grown them several times.
Our beans have flowers on, they look all pretty. The strawberries have been eaten by DD2, no one else got a look in. Lettuces have gone to seed now, and the peppers failed miserably.
How did eveyone else's veg do?
Well done on the reviewing/ rating. I used to be exactly like you - but I just don't have my heart in it at the moment. I should do really, as now is the time to get that big push on for Christmas.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Enjoy your free lunch Bunbun. It's nice to have a treat now and again.
I put my name on a mystery shop list this morning. To MS a new restaurant in Stratford upon Avon. £15 for doing it, plus £70 towards the meal. Woohoo. It should be a nice treat for anyone who gets it - makes a change from Subway.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Lunch sounds lovely bun bun. I hope you enjoy it.
Elysia - i hope your head doesn't give you too much trouble today. Maybe it is your bodies way of telling you to take it a bit easier. Mine does that when it has had enough of me punishing myself.
Your question about the garden - we have about 10 edible lettuces fully grown in the garden, and another tray of seeds started off on the window sill ready to go out, strawberries have been lush, and it is DH who keeps pinching them here when he waters them but only fair i suppose. I also had some surprise purple sprouting broccoli which has self seeded and done better than the ones i planted.
Potatoes and garlic are also doing well, and my rasberry canes are looking healthy. Overall, after some weeding today, we are doing well.
My only disappointment has been the courgettes as we are normally eating them every day by now, but the weather has not been kind to them.0 -
Thank you everyone, usually this paypal thing would have sent me into a blind panic, I must be managing my depression better as I have been really calm about it
I am trying not to stress about it, as there is nothing i can do but sit tight and wait and see if after cancelling my DD with paypal, if i was too late and it has been taken anyway, then i will have to go into branch and do some paperwork to have it refunded to my account. I think I am gogin to regularly change my password on paypal form now, on, i must say there customer service was pants, but my bank ( halifax) have been fab
Have done a few surveys today and reached £2.50, and have my minimum bid of £15 on my old dining room table on ebay, and it has 20 watchers hoping to get at least £40 for it to buy a light fitting for my dining room.
will be back on tonight after the kiddos are in bed to sign up for swagbucks, who wants to refer me.
elysia, can we post our referal links directly onto this forum?0 -
Afternoon all
OH has been busy painting the front of the house so I have had to hold the ladder, so boring lol, was out there 4 hours yesterday and again today. He's done all the bits up the top now though so I can come in but must say the head ache must be catching as mine is thumping now.
Didnt qualify for any of the surveys this morning or yesterday afternoon but did a few more sponsored polls on T. Have couple of items finishing tonight on EB so will help.
Had a big saving come up though, YD was in dire need of some new clothes for both her holiday next week and for summer in general. She came in this morning with two big bags full of lovely stuff from my eldest daughter and said there's another bag round her house waiting for her to go pick it up. Loads of stuff still with tickets on where she hasnt worn them at all so one happy YD and saves me a packet as wont have to buy any new clothes now for a while.0
